I realize with it being an auto tranny many will never be happy. However, based on this video, it sounds like if it had to be an auto, Toyota picked the right one..

Can you expand on that? I saw some reviews where the car wouldnât downshift to 2nd, presumably due to the high speed the tester was traveling, however, others dropped 2 gears with 2 quick taps of the paddle...?But unlike a DCT, you can't down shift 2 gears in the ZF8

ZF equipped vehicles I have driven could downshift 2 gears seamlessly...
Hmmm, ya must just be a software setting, last ZF I drove was the f-type r and I didnât detect any delay. Hopefully it isnât an issue here. With my old DCT, I can go from 6-4, and 4-2 easily with double tap.
But now with my ZF8 I have to go from 6-5-4, and 4-3-2 as there is a delay after going to 5th and 3rd where you have to let the car shift before down shifting again.
it's the software but I don't know how different this Zupra will be.
It's slower in the Normal mode vs Sport, which is by design. Manual mode just prevented the car from going back into auto. How was the response from pulling the paddle to change? Someone mentioned slower shifts in manual compared to sport, did you find this?
I saw those reviews as well, I hope those cars were just malfunctioning if not, gonna have to look for some sort of aftermarket transmission tuneCan you expand on that? It won't let you downshift if the revs will jump over redline.I saw those reviews as well, I hope those cars were just malfunctioning if not, gonna have to look for some sort of aftermarket transmission tune
I figured that, but I guess I thought the professional car people that were in attendance at Summit would know that, rather than stating that the transmission wonât downshift....It won't let you downshift if the revs will jump over redline.
