I love when people give me shit for it being a BMW. When did owning a BMW become shitty?

Mostly just 3 groups of people I've seen: closed-minded JDM pure blood, idiots who just repeat what others said and poor guy's argument about BMW reliability.

People who talked to me about this in person, I just let them try the car and they pretty much all changed their mind.

Some people associate BMW's with "douchebags" because a decent amount of people that own base model BMW's are bad drivers / don't use turn signals / etc.

There's also a vocal minority of BMW enthusiasts with superiority complexes and hate on anything not made by BMW for some reason which makes people who take it too seriously hate BMW's.

Lastly, BMW has a "bad reliability" reputation just because you hear about used BMW's having issues all the time. This is largely due to most base model BMW owners being terrible car owners and never taking care of their cars.

Just largely negative stereotypes with the brand. Most BMW owners are cool and decent drivers, and if you actually try to take care of your car BMW's are extremely reliable, as evident by how many BMW/Supra owners can do thousands of miles of track days without so much as a fluid leak.

I think it's more simply:
  1. They cannot afford.
  2. It's not a MKIV.
Beyond this, "car enthusiasts" largely see the partnership between Toyota and BMW as unholy.. mostly for the reasons outlined above. And the fact that BMW is simply a higher tier manufacturer than Toyota just adds salt to the wound.

Heard a joke kinda like that.... the only bmw owners that use turn signals are supra owners. ?
In Texas, NO ONE uses turn signals, hahahahaha(I live here, no hate to Texans, it's the truth)

I got absolute zero. I was going to go with stratosphere blue but I saw one in person and it just didn't look good to me in the Kentucky sunshine. I liked it but something about it seems washed out and greyish. All pictures and promo material of course have been edited but it looked like a much deeper and richer blue which made me disappointed that I didn't want it.
What a great experience and glad to hear it. I think the majority of us feel the same way. Can’t believe BMW (Toyota cough cough) allowed their best track car to be released, undercutting ? their own M cars. They have to be kicking themselves and hating on Toyota. How many newer M cars do you see on/at any given track day? Not many where I live. The M2 would be the closest. I’ve spotted a few with their rear seats ripped out to save weight and get that heft down so they can fit into their track bikinis ??

Regardless, when do you plan on expanding your current grin & track that mofo? Use that free NASA track day & you won‘t be sorry. Promise ?

I got a 2025 in nocturnal black with a manual about 2 months ago. First, the manual is the only way to go with a sports car!

Second, I agree with almost everything you had to say about this car.
- Very comfortable ride in normal mode and even sport mode is comfortable to be in. (A VERY nice step up from my 2021 Miata)
- Not annoyingly loud when hammering it on spirited drives. (agree)
- Interior feels very premium except for those shitty black plastic door panel covers. (agree, and I don't mind the door cards)
- Insanely smooth power deliver as expected from a BMW engine. (agree)
- Has a great feeling manual.ore or less. (This is one spot where the Miata has it all over the Supra. This one is good, but the Mazda is super slick)
- Tons of grip (due large in part to the tires) and I never feel like I lose confidence in tight corners despite it having a feeling "oh shit it's gonna break loose" if you push it hard enough. (agree)
- Every time I look at it I smile and I keep laughing at how small it is. (I love that so many people look at it because they very rarely see one. And compared to the Miata, the Supra feel big and a bit heavy.)
- The car has very advanced tech but actually interacting with everything feels like I'm in control. All interior buttons are physical, simple and it doesn't have an overabundance of crap in your face. I especially love that I can bind the display to turn off and the system continues to operate song changing and other stuff. (agree, and with the Bimmercode's help, you can really fine tune it to do what you would prefer it to do)

I loved my Miata Club RFB and I knew it would be tough to find a car that I could love even more. But the Supra has turned out to be just that car! Now I want Toyota to get a new MR2 with the new 400hp turbo 4 cylinder, a 6 speed manual, all wheel drive and all the higher end stuff the Supra has. If they do it right, I'll pay whatever it takes (as long as it looks cool)!

Man wish I know you were selling that beautiful 2021 MX5… When do you plan on using your free track day? Sebring is closer from where we live. You’ll get the most out of your free day going there. Homestead is cheaper if you were to pay. Regardless, the car is built for it and you’ll be glad you did!

Nice having another Supra owner/lover in the area ?

congrats! which color? over the weekend I noticed there's no 'oh sh*t' handles lol there are quirks and i get hassled by friends that 'it's just a bmw'. but to each their own and to each their own cup of tea! enjoy it!
They're on the door! My wife says that every time she gets in with me. She also freaks out every time I hit the gas even though I don't go over 45 where we drive, lol.

It’s funny because it true, I bought my first Supra in 2000 (low mileage 96 NA 5speed) because I couldn’t afford a 330CI at the time.

Don't forget to look into the history of the Toyota/BMW collaboration for development of the GR Supra:
