try FF at 30 on Map 1

FF 15 on Map 1

I recommend always starting map 1 for logs, and need to know the mods/fuel on the car
I’ll try it on map 1 and send over a log. I’m running e30

I’ll get a log of it on map 1 it has e30 mix in it and it was on map 5.

Hello Guys,

i just skimmed through the 71 pages but people seem to have issues with JB4 on the manual (MT) supra. Has this been fixed by now or is it still buggy ?

Btw any more news about reliability issues ? Some people claim femto unlock is saver than piggybacks. I plan to keep my 23 MT forever and want to make it as reliable as possible. 480 hp max. Not sure if I should go the ECU unlock or jb4 route. Thanks.

JB4 is known to be much harder to work with for manual transmission cars yes, there are people here than can help though. It's definitely a system originally intended for automatics.

Proper unlock and tune is always safer, but a TON of people (not just Supra's, but also BMW's, KIA Stingers, and more) have ran an aggressive JB4 map for years without issues. Most of the people that break things with JB4 either run Map 3 (which is known to blow turbos) or screwed around with custom settings without knowing what they're doing. The main thing you're getting from an unlock and true tune (on stock turbo) is an additional power bump plus a more consistent and smooth experience.

Thanks for the Info i appreciate it.

Ehh then I probably go for the Unlock and professional tune I guess, even though its 4 times more expensive for me. But you had me at "safer" and the warranty is probably gone anyway even if I go the JB4 route.

Totally your choice, there's nothing unsafe about the JB4 if you've read this thread. If you want a set and forget, go unlock. If you want to go thru some revisions to get JB4 perfect on your car, then you WILL retain your warranty.

Idk where this myth comes from because I know more than a few people who had powertrain work done under warranty after removing jb4.

Here's my catless MT working just fine on JB4 E30 map this week.

Love what you’re doing Colonel ?! Is it worth doing some 3rd or 4th gear pulls when not on track? Sorry if it seems like I’ve asked this ? times (I only have 4-5x ?). Temps are in the 90s & hot as schweaty balls. I could turn the JB4 on in MAP2 and record some hard pulls, TC off, in manual mode, and hit it going 30-100mph?

I do have a track recording when my wife was driving (not as hard) that I can send ya too. Good thing it doesn’t record me yelling full throttle while we were doing the pulls ?. It didn’t go out for her btw. Like it does almost instantly, 5-10 minutes in every time for me. Sometimes sooner. Hence why I just leave it off on track.

Thanks again amigo! I still haven’t made it up to TBR yet. When I do, will definitely give you a holler.

After going through the 70 pages of this thread I pulled the trigger on getting a JB4 so thank you for providing all this information for people like me who want to dabble in tuning the Supra. Should hopefully have my first log posted up here for review on Sunday. Not planning to go all out quite yet but excited to see what the difference is with Stock DP and an E mix. More info to come!

Just wrote a section on Ethanol blending, as it is common for people to run too much and go lean. I have seen many logs like this.

It is best to start low (~2 gal), as each car can vary how it handles the extra fuel load.

I’d like to post my log for yall to see it having trouble figuring out how to link my datazap. I’m on E40, I feel like my car should be getting more out of this mix.
