Heaven help you if one of the Vitour marketing people gets your name on FB, and you make the mistake of accepting the friend request. Massive marketing blast EVERY DAY. It's not Dallas (I know who he is), but an Asian name. It took me 2 days of annoyance before I hid him. Flooding my feed with blatant marketing stuff makes me expressly NOT want to spend money on Vitours.

Edit...At One Lap, there was a rep from Nexen working the crowd during one of the social events. He had Solomon (guy who now runs OLOA) introduce him to people and was reasonably respectful. From what I could tell from eavesdropping, it looks like they're trying to get into the 200TW market, but I couldn't quite make out if they were going for the fast end (RE71) or the endurance side of the market (RS4).
Honestly the current batch of 200s is not nearly as good as the first batch of 100s were (the wraith branded tires), although they say its the "same" tire. Durometer isnt nearly the same. Wouldn't be the first time a chinese company cut corners after the fact

So yesterday I wrapped up a weekend at Sebring instructing (my s2000 is still misfiring after 14 months of trying to diagnose it) but I digress. My student was a 21 year old female college graduate. First time on track and did good with her 2020 base model, automatic Hyundai Elantra.

Well as you would guess the brakes gave put by the second day. So her friend let her borrow his 2023, 6 speed, OTS stage 2 tune Supra for 1 session. She said she could drive stick...

Well going into T7 she went from about 4,500rpm in5th gear and skip shifted down to 2nd gear and dumped the clutch. Rpm is screaming well over the rev limit while Im telling her to put the clutch in (she was panicking and could already barely reach the pedals). It took her somewhere around 3 seconds to finally get the clutch in and I knocked the shifter into neutral.

How fucked or not fucked is this guys motor? I tired finding the owner after to just let him know. So if youre on here man, I wanted you know!

She "drove" 2 more laps. Left it in 5th and lugged it everywhere. Or put in 3rd and just held it at 6,000 everywhere while holding up traffic. Motor sounded maybe different? Don't know if it was just a placebo effect. No CEL or anything at least.

As someone who has moneyshifted a motor on track, it bent a valve to the point that it wouldn't retract cleanly - it sounded wrong IMMEDIATELY. It also didn't make it a whole lap before the valve broke off and fully grenaded the motor.

If the Supra ran for a couple of laps, a valve/valves are probably bent, but less bad than my situation. It will fail, and likely spectacularly. Head needs to come off ASAP.

Agreed. Too bad I don't know the owner to be able to warn him. If you're on here man, heads up!

That’s one helluva friend or she’s one helluva friend with benefits to be letting her use his car as a test mule on track. Glad you both were okay ?

I think this whole event proves my idea that knowing how to drive stick on the street does not transfer on racing or driving a very technical road on a MT car.

All through the years I’ve seen a bunch of kids driven by the Fast and Furious franchise driving their little MT cars on the street pretending that they are “better” drivers than the rest of the world.

unless you drive it the way it should be up and down a serious mountain range in Europe or South America or in a track, you are not that *special*

I was fine. All I could think about is that poor B58. Actually... you might know the owner of said car.

I hope I don’t. There is one guy who buys his grown daughter really nice cars. I have been lucky enough to be next to them more than once at Sebring (in the garages). Anyway, the dad wrecked the 1st Supra they owned a couple years back, the 1st weekend I met him there. He kept apologizing to her over the phone (she left the track early), while she yelled at him. I felt for the guy (kinda sorta).

Vents vents.... I'm running 777 hood vent + sayber top fender vents. Pondering changing the venting once i upgrade front aero to add more front df as i cant run 2long on the splitter.

I wonder if its worth to swap in new hood for new Racelouvers extreme 4piece hood vent kit + verus fender vents? RL quotes around ~112lbs of front df for their kit, Verus told me fender vents shidted balance by 10% to front on their ventus5 pack paired with v1x so seems they do alot. Zebulon told me verus vents r good.
Any1 running this?

What u guys think, would it be worthy upgr? Expensive coz needs the hood ?

The verus fender vent looks so badass but the headache of aligning the bottom half seems like a pain. Also keep in mind that some orgs require you to have tire coverage when viewed from above. I know you're in eu, but I think that's a grid life rule (and others)

Well once its aligned its done right? I'll let shop figure it out :)
Well for now i dont have such rule so not my concern.

Pondering if this combo above is worth gettin new hood, i want to pair it with AJ Hartman or upcomming Zebulon tunneled splitter. On the back probably Verus V1x coz i already have holes drilled so p&p.
No1 seem to be running racelouvers setup so far... ?

Omnomnom grass. I actually went through field to get to track, it wasnt any off ?
