lol i'm really not sure why you get so sensitive if someone chooses to run oil that was recommended by the manufacturer. obviously "it doesnt matter at the end of the day". pump 87 because "it doesnt matter at the end of the day". the ecu will just re-learn all the timing based on knock sensors.

i'm not sure how oil consumption came into this conversation. is someone claiming 0w20 causes oil consumption?
you're comparing oil to gas which is a horrible comparison. oil isnt being ignited.
and yes people in hot climates have oil consumption issues, and have said switching to heavier weight fixed it. euro vs domestic b58s aren't that different nor is bmw going to rebuild an entire enigne just to use 0w20. the same manufacture recommends 4 different oil weights in the owners manual so idk what you're saying.

never said it was a scam genius. just said that it doesn't matter because at the end of the day oil is oil and it will be changed in 5000 miles.

and yes the only thing that matters is the oil weight. if your car is consuming oil are you gonna switch from c5 0w20 to toyota "gr supra" 0w20. you'll realize it won't do anything. when you go up in weight is when you'll see a change. but yes your 30 minutes of research tops my years of experience as a tech who works on german cars everyday at a dealer

the guy who's calling me ignorant is the same guy sweating bullets about certifications on 0w20 not realizing the certs are for emissions and not for drivability of the car
So what oil and weight are you using?

What an obsessive follower.
Homie, EVERYONE sees when you bump threads because they come up on the "New Posts" section.

Do you ever contribute?
Okay, now you can kindly straight up get F'd. I know you are just trying to be provocative (or you are just being an asshole) but I need to put you in your place after that comment...

I've contributed 100,000x more (and continue) to this forum and done more with these cars than your stupid useless old thread bumps. You've even uselessly bumped some of my contributing threads. For F's sake, you didn't even know what engine we have in our Supras!

Take a look at this and ask me that question again:

Ever since you showed up and started projectile posting you have done nothing except reiterate information on a 6+ year old vehicle.

1) Constantly asking/commenting about oil.
2) Telling us how to program the shortcut buttons.
3) Stating what type of coolant the car comes with.
4) Telling everyone the open hood/front vent replacements are too expensive for you.
5) Answering a post about color that is old enough to be in 1st fucking grade by now to say Absolute Zero has a pearlescent effect.

You have by far contributed the LEAST to this entire community.

And lastly, did you previously own a Corvette?

if the answers I am looking for were available I wouldn’t be posting. What I am finding out here is that virtually every post on the oil indicates no one has any idea why they are putting it in their car. So why not focus on discussing it?
