I am in Milwaukee and yes I work at a dealership.
We still have a Red Launch and we’re only at $1,500 over MSRP
We are doing MSRP for the rest
414-546-5014 if you can come in and contract.

CLOSED - Price is given also to local buyers - manager wants to keep Supra in our market

It makes the $77k one in Roanoke, VA look enticing for a second :)

I am not liking our chances in the DMV for getting one at MSRP. I found one dealer that is raffling off tickets (for charity) for the chance to win a purchase at MSRP. That isn't terrible, so I can't complain much there.
Agreed - Just got off the phone with Brown's Toyota in Glen Bernie, MD.........Was told to expect $25k over MSRP for dealers in DMV area.

I'm sure you don't have control over these kinda things but a $1,500 mark up? That kind of a price point doesn't make sense to me. Why not ask $5k? What good is $1,500 going to do in the pockets of the dealer? I'd rather offer an MSRP deal and take good care of the purchaser to make sure they come back for service, another car, etc... Just my .02

We are generally a MSRP is as high as we’ll go dealership… Something to do with being the lowest priced Dealer in the district

Here's the thing though --- Most buyers in this class I would gather are fairly savvy when it comes to investments. An $80k Supra driving off the lot will take how long really be worth that over time? 15+ years? I cringed when I saw all of the flooding in our area from the rain a week ago. Imagine dropping $80k then some accident/natural disaster totals that car. The hit would insane.

Even more, 15 years from now, will a low mileage, garage-kept, single owner, factory LE be worth $30k more than a 3.0? History doesn't reflect those numbers either.

Lastly, $80k would put me in a mid-priced Model S category or well over a fully Loaded Model 3. have emotional ties to the Supra name, but not that emotional to pass on no gas + next-gen tech while giving away 10-20 thousand more.

I posted the invoice pricing in a different thread; dealers are already making ~$4k on an MSRP sale. If dealers price these LEs that high and they sit on the lot, while people are ordering 3.0s at or below MSRP, the LE is going to take an even larger hit.

I got quote for $30k over MSRP, $20k over MSRP everywhere I called. I said no thanks. This is not worth that much. :) Keep looking.

The same reason why everyday someone offers $35k out the door on a car listed at $45k before tax title license etc...market

The MK5 won't appreciate like that. It certainly won't double in value. It MIGHT hold it's value at best around 70% for a few years like the Mitsubishi Evo is doing. The MK4 is a rare car and even rarer to find a turbo manual that isn't beaten to death. All the MK5 are coming in the same specs with a couple color differences. That will not be getting "collector" status.

i got an email today. I was told that there is enough vehicles for the people that put a deposit down (non-LE), i put $500 down about 3-4 months back and i am currently 6th in line. I didn't get a date on when. what stopped me was the MSRP mark up...$10k - $15k over for a 3.0 Premium with driver assist package. so im looking at $73k to $77k total. i wanted this car, but not at that price point. i was ready for $60k - $65k. i guess i'll look at slightly used audi RS3 or audi RS6...but most likely i'll just keep my v-dub, at least it has a manual still.

I feel like a lot of people had planned getting a new car around the Supra launch for several months, only to get screwed by dealer mark up and going looking elsewhere. Interested to see if this car still succeeds with a launch like this. Toyota dealers, you are fucking it up.

Just wait a couple months -- I don't think the price markups will last long.
