Just got an update from my dealer. Estimated arrival date at port was yesterday and waiting for an actual date stamp on the tracker. Maybe they will received the car this weekend, if not, early next week. And they would need a day of two for the PDI process. I spoke with the service manager and been advised that they have everything and just waiting on the car to arrive

I love how some dealer got LE and premium delivered to their dealer. But mine hasn't receive the LE. Isn't the LE suppose to be the first 1500 built? Toyota really mess up this release.
Picked up my Ren. Red LE today. I know that my dealer as well as others in the Atlanta metro area received a delivery yesterday. The one I got mine from also has a gray premium that i believe is still available
Agreed!
I get that Toyota is not using their existing supply routes from Magna to EU ports, but I'm sure BMW has the routes that they can piggyback off of. I work at an automotive supplier, so I do know the shipping hurdles, but it's not like Toyota is a new comer to USA. Their trucks/rails, etc. should really be fully capable of being utilized after cars reach the USA ports. If dealer daily is able to see the VIN, which dealer the VIN is allocated to and rest of the details and if this can be shared with us and we all know what to expect!, then the trucks, etc. should also be capable of reading this info and making sure the darn "package" gets to the correct address on scheduled time. Perhaps they should use FedEx next time!?*
If there really is a special inspection going on that's delaying things, then I'm double annoyed and confused. These things don't just pop-up and Toyota/BMW should have been prepared unless some dummy in the Magna plant put Wiener schnitzels inside the tires and FBI has raided the ports! I do wonder if 2020 Z4 is having issues. Granted I'm sure it's not the same hype, but still.

Toyota also had this stupid idea to release LE's on July 22nd and the whole thing is extremely botched! Suppliers got theirs months ago. They drove them on the roads etc, everyone saw them. What was with the 22nd date? Toyota didn't want people driving the cars before 22nd for what? So that people will see them on roads and actually wanna buy one??? What was the stupid motivation???

Unless you guys can't tell I'm extremely disappointed. Was told to expect the car at a certain date, I've got all documentation, finances, etc. up and running and at this point. clock started ticking on those with no car to show for..

maybe Toyota had terms with BMW not to release too quickly after the z4 release.

All launch models should have been at their selling dealer on July 22 if that is the date set by Toyota. Press releases stated other models would arrive as early as the end of August. Those models are now at dealers while the first 1500 launch models are still in transit. Launch models were supposed to be the first sold then non launch per press. Not sure why this is happening. Dealers that are farther away from ports should have been allocated first so they would get their cars by the date Toyota states. Dealers closer to ports would have less of a delay from port to dealer ship time. Looks like dealers near ports getting theirs while dealers that require longer transit time don’t have theirs. Makes no sense logistically.
Saw on some sticker prices from YouTube vids that some launch models didn’t even have a dealer address on them. Selling dealer was shown as a region and address was “show car”. Shipping 1500 cars to dealers by a set date Toyota released should not be this difficult.

If you are looking in the Toyota vin lookup site it will be populated after Toyota registers you as the owner. It will show the dealer that sold it to you.

maybe Toyota had terms with BMW not to release too quickly after the z4 release.
Very well could be, but as consumers, we know that they're in completely different boats, especially being $20K apart. BMW knows this too otherwise they wouldn't even sign the contract and they very well know their previous gen volume records and that Supra name will easily sell more then Z4.

I haven't done the research but I haven't seen a single Z4 around. Not on the roads, not in the Cars&Coffee's. Only one I saw was at the dealer. I will be visiting my dealer today, will check out to see if they even sold the one... being Michigan perhaps it's not selling much, so if anyone knows how Z4 is doing in other regions, I'd love to know.
