Yea the HJS cats are $$$$$$. I'm also not convinced that a 200 cell won't have any smell.

The Gen 2 GESI cats support up to 1200hp as well.
I have a RedStar HJS DP and it was, in fact, $$$$$, but it doesn’t really smell that I can tell, and it’s heat shielded, and there’s no CEL (for the most part-it’s come on and gone back off a couple times) without a tune, and it’s huge (130mm) and it sounds great. A complaint I have though is if you’re trying to go full 4” on the exhaust they won’t make it that way for some reason even though it’s basically made to order.

Okay, I am now fully transitioned from BM3 to MHD+. Just some small cleaning up to do on the current tune.

I will update the self tuning thread at some point to reflect on the differences between BM3 and MHD+.

You know what I haven't had a problem with since I moved to MHD?

Connecting to the car.

BM3 = close your eyes, make a wish, hope you feel lucky, give a sacrifice to the gods... maybe it will connect, maybe it will not. After every app update... will it break? Who knows! Better turn off auto app update if you need to make sure you can flash or log!

MHD = Connects every single time with zero drama.

I also have boost per gear and custom PID tables with wayyyy more granular control now, which BM3 has been promising for years now.

Did you ever find a download for expanded definitions for MHD?

The infamous Rush race car guy that didn't know what a point by was last event magically finds out his arm can form a point by this event... Also 911 cup car.

I'm really not a fan of point-by overtaking. I'm not sure how much safer it is than our method, where it's the job of the person overtaking to make sure they're doing so safely. We don't have many accidents at all. There are 3 clear benefits to that....the 1st is that you spend a lot less time looking at your mirrors. There's a mental benefit to that too. Some weird anxiety. The 2nd is that you don't need to get your left hand off the wheel. The 3rd is that it's a lot harder to hold up traffic, which is also safer, and people are less likely to do stupid things.

Open vs point by passing is usually a run group / experience thing. Most clubs I run with in the advanced groups are open passing. But I don’t think point by passing is inherently unsafe. You really should have the situational awareness to know who is behind you anyway.

Yea, most organizations here in the North East are point-by only. It took me a bit to get used to it because I ran with open passing groups when I lived in California.

Best lap I could muster from yesterday. Vitour P1's still almost exactly 1 sec off the pace they did for that one "fast" lap the first day. Tire is so over-hyped. It was hot, I was running less power and way less boost in 6th because of the slipping last event, but still off pace.

Problem is a lot of people don't have enough situational awareness. It's less about it being unsafe as much as it about it being annoying. I can see how it might make more sense though in the way you described it - point-by for beginners and open passing in the advanced groups

This lines up with pretty much a lot of people i know who've tried this tire. Still can't find a good reason to swap out the CRS.

After asking MHD support for the oil pressure setpoint table defined, they basically stated the table wasn't needed (even after showing them why in fact it was) and then ignoring me, I just took initiative myself, found it myself with a little help from A2L viewer and ChatGPT and some good old fashioned trial and error.

What is this table used for in the DME?

Sets oil pressure by temp and RPM. Increasing oil pressure is usually needed when adding a HPFP to keep VANOS exhaust actual to target. Without increasing oil pressure, the exhaust VANOS gear has a hard time staying on target.
