Power steering feels…”sticky” ?

Does your car behave the same? Steering wheel feels heavy, and sticky to return to the center after letting go of the steering wheel. Also, when steering left and letting go, it doesn’t fully return to the center, it stays slightly to the left. Completely stock Z4 m40i.
Very disappointed by the steering feel of this car, feels like the steering wheel is not even attached to the car. Even my RAV4 is more precise and has more steering feel.

Upgrade your front sway bar. Z4 is a touring car. It's designed to be soft and lazy for driver comfort.

there is an steering rack adjustment that is super sensitive. it's possible that it was improperly adjusted from factory.

Any updates on this? My 2021 Supra does the same thing

I don't want to adjust the steering rack unless that for sure will resolve this issue.

my 2021 likes to bounce between left and right of dead center when I’m making slight wheel movements only in Sport mode. Non-sport glides normally over center but when i put it in sport it’ll make a small jump over center that i can feel. Not sure what’s up with that and why it’s only on Sport.

Yep. Why would you worry about this anyway? Do you normally drive around letting go of the wheel coming out of turns or lane changes? Reminds me of rides that get bent out of shape because the bike pulls slightly left or right or shakes the bars a little at certain speeds when they take both hands off the bars. Nobody should ride like that and nobody should be driving out of turns without at least 1 hand on the wheel so it's pretty much a moot point really.

Yep. Why would you worry about this anyway? Do you normally drive around letting go of the wheel coming out of turns or lane changes? Reminds me of rides that get bent out of shape because the bike pulls slightly left or right or shakes the bars a little at certain speeds when they take both hands off the bars. Nobody should ride like that and nobody should be driving out of turns without at least 1 hand on the wheel so it's pretty much a moot point really.

On my car it almost seems to "lock" into place at a certain angle when turning, maybe like that detent feeling everyone is talking about, and when it does that it takes more effort to correct it than normal and sometimes makes me overcorrect and doing that causes the car to feel a little squirrely in the turns. Its like I'm fighting the lane assist, but I've toggled it on/off many times to make sure it is off.

Yea look I appreciate what your saying. I've just spent years troubleshooting machines like race bikes and commercial jets and I know once a rider or pilot gets focused on some small idiosyncrasy it gets into your head and it's hard to shake loose. Happens to me as well sometimes but I recognise the symptoms and can short circuit the situation mentally now. Starting a long road trip where I'm going to put a lot of miles on the car I hear all sorts of noises in the first 100klm or so till I stop myself from focusing on noises and I forget about it for the rest of the trip. Personally I'd just get a good wheel alignment then forget it. Every car is different same as every bike and aircraft. They all have their idiosyncrasies even if they are made on the same production line. I've owned 2 new Focus RS Mk3's and both had their own personality.
