Well finally got the wheels and tires mounted.
Random thoughts:
Ended up getting CRS in 275/40/18 to save a bit of cash Over RE71RZ in 295/35/18. I'm still learning the car, not looking to put down PBs just yet.
I knew CRS run wide but I was still surprised how wide these are. Makes MPSS look so smol. Barely looks stretched on an 18x11.
Though I do have the HKS springs for clearance I can't help but feed my flush boi cravings. Tried a 12.5 mm spacer first but ended up not feeling comfortable with the amount of poke.
Then tried 8 mm spacer which looked more acceptable and at least has cleared during regular street driving. Adding camber with the top hats hopefully will give me a touch more margin.
As it sits now the car feels pretty neutral. OEM springs and OEM stagger felt ever so slightly pushy. Car turns in well but when getting on throttle I can feel the front wanting to wash out. HKS springs stiffen the front comparatively more than the rear and the wheel rates are almost square. On OEM stagger tires the HKS springs made the car push even more. Not the worst thing ever but I can tell that the front does not want to load up on braking and turn in, even just on street driving. Other wise I'm pleasantly surprised by how well they ride. They're not overly harsh at all. Best way I would describe it is that comfort feels like sport and sport feels like sport+. On comfort you can tell the shock is underdamped when you hit pot holes though. Now with nonstagger tires the stiffer front springs are counter balanced andd the care feels pretty neutral. I feel less motivated to get a stiffer front sway bar now but will need to feel the car out more. Though, I think body roll reduction would still be nice with the extra grip. Are there any "meddium" stiffness front sway bars? Concerned that the EIbach even on soft might be more than I'd like.
Also, CRS are extremely quite for a 200 TW tire. MPSS are so fucking noisy. Ironic part is that now that the car has less road noise I have noticed it has a very subtle dash rattle, lol. Oh well....
Pic with 8 mm front spacer and 12.5 mm rear.
Edit: BTW anyone have recs on wheel studs? Not too impressed with Motorsports Hardware stuff. The threads were very coarse and had many burs and chips in them. I had to re-cut the threads with a die for them to thread smoothly. I feel like I can feel the threads stretching, I know they're supposed to but it's a bit disconcerting when it's this noticeable. Looking for something more premium in the future but won't hit the bank like MSI, lol. Or are all of the common ones pretty much (except MSI) OEM by the same factory?
