I have been waiting on the TRD parts for the A90 ever since I saw the leaked photos from Japan of the TRD carbon aero kit for the MKV Supra. I was able to buy the TRD carbon mirror caps through a U.S. Toyota dealer however, the front lip, side skirts, rear spats and the duckbill spoiler are not available in the U.S. at this time through any Toyota dealer and/or any tuner company. Through a contact of mine I was able to privately order from Toyota in Japan direct. My first piece is the TRD carbon duckbill spoiler. It arrived last week and it was just installed on Friday.
A friend of mine who also owns a 2020 MKV Supra ordered the Rexpeed carbon spoiler which is the same design. They obviously used the TRD spoiler to create a mold to make theirs. Heres the difference;
Rexpeed = $450, (wet CFRP) no bolt's or drilling required. 3M adhesive tape to mount. Epoxy has a little orange peel and the carbon weave has minor imperfections but still very good.
TRD = $2,300, (dry CFRP) requires drilling, mounts with two bolts and wing nuts & 3M adhesive tape (grommets included for holes as well as weather and anti-corrosion sealant). PET plastic trunk template included for exact drilling spots. Epoxy is thicker and as smooth as glass, no orange peel, carbon weave is exceptional and perfect.
Below are some photos of my TRD carbon duckbill installed on my Nitro Yellow MKV. I have also included the TRD manual in this post for those of you who are curious about installation prep. Despite it being printed in Japanese the diagrams are pretty insightful as is.
