Started the car the other day after work and was greeted to 3 Warnings. Car chimed and flashed new messages:

> Reduced Driver Assistance
>> Pedestrian Warning
>> Frontal Collision Warning

I got out and checked all the sensors all around the car and they all looked normal. I couldn't see any damage or anything covering the sensors. It was a sunny day so rain wan't an issue. Plus, I just drove it to work that morning and everything was fine.

I hooked it up to see if I could find any fault codes but the handheld was saying that no codes were found.

Anyone else have this happen?

Not sure if those systems use the front camera or radar. Was anything blocking the camera on the windshield. Direct sunlight can mess with it too.

Those systems use the front camera. Check to make sure that the front camera isn't obstructed. It should go away after a bit if everything is kosher with the camera.

No, it's the camera system that is behind the rearview mirror, you can see it at the top of the front windshield. It is for the car's safety system and is used to detect the roadway, cars ahead, and pedestrians in order to emergency brake, lane keep assist, etc.

Hey, I had that once happen to me when I had to get my exhaust adjusted. When I was driving the car, the error came up saying something similar and also said there was a malfunction in the the sensors. So I talk to the guy that adjusted the aftermarket exhaust, he was familiar with this issue. They have 3 supras that they are building and one of them did the same thing. He told me it's a software problem. All you need to do is reset the car and it will go away. It was a weird way how to reset the car. I haven't had an issue since then. Hope it helps.

This happened to me once (no mods, nothing). Waited a day, booked with my dealer to take a look at it. It ended up resolving itself on the drive to dealer and has never returned...

Was the car facing the sun?

This has happened on my past BMW M4 (Supra uses same type of system obviously) and it always happened when I was facing the sun, or when there were no clouds outside and the sun was very bright. Goes away after awhile driving in a different direction, or when restarted not facing the sun (I believe the camera does a check upon every start up)

Not for me. My Supra was in a garage getting worked on.

So far it's been a couple of days and still pops up after a minute of starting the car. The day it happened the car was sitting in the sun that day. It's gonna be a hell of a summer if this happens every sunny day. Anyone know of how to reset it? Just disconnect the battery for 20 min?

Just bring it to the dealership. Just video record it and let them know. That is the best way to start showing proof to these dealerships that don't want to help out.

I got it yesterday also, drove on the freeway and completely shutdown the supra safety system, and turned it back on and it cleared it I guess.

I had gotten the reduced driver assistance a few months ago. Car was bone stock driving in normal traffic. The car felt a bit weird. Made it home turned off the car to allow reset when turned back on codes and messages had disappeared. Haven’t had that issue since.

FYI a video means absolutely nothing to a tech if the problem doesn’t present it self when you get to the dealer
Well. FYI that is how I showed it to the Toyota engineer who came to do a full inspection of the car with the list of problems I had. Even he agreed that video does help. They take a copy of the video to present to the higher ups. Its better than looking like an ass saying something with out any proof.
