I'll keep this updated with details from the process.

1. Made a service appt with local dealership to discuss this
2. Opened case with toyota north america, awaiting response: "Hi, I recently bought a Gold certified pre owned 2021 Supra. This car is burning oil, I've had to refill a full quart after only 1300 miles. Then, I got a full service. Drove another 1300 miles, and my oil level is reading low once again. The engine clearly is having issues, and I need to explore warranty options. I want to still own a Supra, so whether this means exchanging for a newer model year, or this is the beginning of the process."
3. Set up bimmerlink to begin documenting precise oil level after each drive

No engine mods, no tunes, no track usage

Remember to do this while the car is on and idling at full operating temp, on level ground.
Yep, I've measured in the same parking spot since buying it with the mmi system. Will do the same with OBD

I have a 21 and don’t burn any oil and I mainly use it at the track. Have just shy of 10k miles. I’m tuned and run E. I drove it nice for 200 miles then beat it like a red headed step child ever since. I also think some of this is over done and people are mixing up the amount of oil to add during changes litres and quarts.

I read it and disregarded it. And zero issues
Same. Why I was thinking about that thin CAFE standard 0w-20 oil. I didn’t have that stuff in my car long after purchase.

Since I'm in Florida, I've been considering changing to a thicker viscosity.
What weight did you jump to and brand?
I'm a fan of Liquimolly but have been running the 0w-20.

Cheers

I’ve been using a BMW LL-01 approved oil - Motul 8100 X-cess (5w30) to be specific. 5w40 would work as well. edyvw is my fav contributor (site below). He does this for a living. Dude is open minded, considers different conditions, fuels, etc. I’m running standard 93 octane.

Wealth of info on there. It’s a lot of reading but oddly fun ? I would put any of those in my car.

Hi,

Recently purchased a Gold certified pre owned 2021 supra. Within 2000 miles of ownership, from having a full oil reading, I received low oil light. I then replaced 1 qt, drove for a week, then brought it to the dealership for a full service. I then drive 1400 miles, and have burned 1/2 a quart. The total mileage is ~13,000. I believe this is severe oil consumption, and I have not dealt with the process of lemon law, or engine/car replacement from Toyota. Can someone point me to resources for how to handle this

Thanks
Phil
I know the forum is a great resource, but googling this usually brought up better results. In OTHER B58 manuals it says burning a 1/2-1qt is aight every 1000-1200 miles, especially if you're driving it hard at all.

Nothing to worry about, top it off. I upped my oil to 5w30, and haven't seen consumption since, iirc, but I also only have 8800 miles on my 2021 I bought in...2021 : (. But I had oil consumption a few times on stock oil. I was also in Redding, CA back then where the temps get to 100-110f most of the summer, which probably didn't help.

2021 here, I changed my oil at 1200 miles with no measurable consumption. Then again at 5000mi and it probably consumed a little over half a quart or so. The oil indicator never came on, the engine is probably well within spec.
