Hey y'all, looking for some advice for my supra that has been in the shop. It went in after a crash in September of last year, and has been at a local collision/body shop being repaired since. They have been overall a little slow/unresponsive, but the current problem is finding a missing front bumper sensor. They have supposedly ordered it 3 times, each time receiving a sensor that doesn't match the original.

Looking for some advice/help on either sourcing this part or figuring out what the issue is. I know parts for these cars can be hard to find sometimes, but I believe this is the last part needed and they tell me they have been searching for it since I asked at the start of the year. They *originally* told me they were hoping to have the car done in November of last year. Attached is a photo of the email/part they say is needed. Any help is appreciated.

Ask them (Toyota) for the superseded number. My body shop had the same issue. Part number changes confuse them like none other.

Got it, I will do that. I thought the shop could figure it out with Toyota but maybe not. Would you recommend going through my local dealer, or Toyota corporate?

I went to my local dealer. I had to tell them to look up the new number or they would keep giving me the wrong sensor. My body shop could not figure it out for 2 months.... Took me one phone call.

If you can find the part number for it, check Amayama.com as well

I find most bodyshops/dealers in NA only have access to view what's in stock in NA, but Amayama orders come from Japan or Dubai, and I've had a lot of luck getting parts from there quicker and cheaper than waiting for the parts counter at the local dealer

The Body shop is full of it. It's not that hard to look those up. Yes there are supersessions but that wont hold a car up for months.

I work in a Toyota Parts Department. I do this all day. The Body shop isn't being honest.

I'm getting a sensor blindness of the outer left parking sensor and I think I need to replace this on my black supra. Is the sensor painted or needs painting? It seems not to be on my supra.
