93 Octane seems to be common back east but not so much here out west. I believe it will be coming to the SW fairly soon. As such I began wondering if anybody has done any datalogging on the 91 vs 93? Specifically, the anti-knock PID?

What leads you to believe 93 will be coming to ACN (AZ, CA, NV) anytime soon?...Was this mentioned in a recent news article I may have missed? That would be great if this is true!

That was a belief shared by a couple E93 stations in Phoenix.

There has been always opposition due to emissions / environmental concerns ...Not really that big of deal as the difference really isn't all that significant between 91 and 93....

But we do have ethanol stations here for those looking to maximize tuning gains ...Personally, been there / did that years ago and mixing ethanol got tired quickly and I no longer chase the gains...

A decent / conservative stage 2 tune on ACN 91 will be more than enough power for me...I'm starting to look into installing a nice high flow cat and have a stage 2 done on 91 ACN...

Make sure the 100 octane is unleaded...also big pain in the ass to drive that far for that....ethanol is much cheaper and more available and less prone to detonation...

Personally, I don't get into the mix hassle any longer or chase big hp numbers as I mention above...

Any pump that offers VP Racing's VP100 fuel is unleaded 100 octane. It's rare to find but there are some independent gas stations out there that offer it. Be forewarned though... at least pre-covid19 the price was $9-$10/gallon which is pricey even if your goal is only to raise the total octane of the 91 fuel in your tank.

E85 with an aftermarket flex fuel ECU (if/when available) and an upgraded fuel system capable of handling the high concentration ethanol is still a much more affordable alternative.

I'm also of the mind that tuning for 91, 92 or 93 (whichever is applicable) is still the easiest to live with.

I don't see what the big deal is about mixing fuels, especially given the fact that the car tells us exactly how much fuel is in the tank. I run an e50 tune. It just means I have to pump twice. 51% E85 and 59% E10. E85 around here is $1.85.
