You are part of that 1% son...I have the emission part covered. I know a few test centers that will pass it for a few extra bucks.

I'm sure y'all can find some too. Just go to the "hole in the wall" part of town.You are part of that 1% son...
Metal impellers or plastic?The water pump will be the same as the current B58 cooling unit, which is a mechanical water pump assembly as well as an auxiliary electric pump specifically for the turbo.
The pump assembly can be seen here on the driver's side of the motor, attached to the block:
Also, that oil filter looks like it'll be a right PITA to change. Can only imagine how little space there is once the manifold is on. Also, the diagrams confirm there is no D4S, just the standard BMW DI system.
Besides the engine and the brakes, does anybody know what else is beefed up on the I6 Car?
Might just take Tada's advice: buy the 4 cylinder and swap it.
But that would defeat the whole purpose of pushing, "the one thing everyone wanted....was an inline six." If that does in fact end up being true, that the 4cyl gets more attention than the 6cyl, then shame on Toyota and their marketing teams for poor research....because at that point, a hopped-up GT86 platform would have been worthwhile. No?I read somewhere that the Toyota engineers are pushing for the 4cylinder motor because it has a good platform to start and is able to make pretty good power. Who knows, the smaller engine may end up surprising many people. We will just have to wait and see what the aftermarket tuners are able to do with these engines. I'm hopeful... kinda
What pisses me off, is that the auto industry actually has both options of water pumps. I cannot tell you the amount of failures that happen all because of the plastic impellers stripping and or broken blades. All too common im afraid....I sometimes feel like they do this to have the cars come back for major services at 30k or 50k.Metal impellers or plastic?
I don't think the 4cyl is going to get more attention than the 6. I just think that it would be somewhat idiotic to swap the motor right off the bat in a brand new $45k+ car. Might as well blow it up first and see what it can do before swapping a 20 year old motor into it.But that would defeat the whole purpose of pushing, "the one thing everyone wanted....was an inline six." I agree, I don't think swaps will be the "thing" with this car. I truly believe the aftermarket will be a combination of mods (turbo's, intakes, etc...) and reliability enhancers (plastic to billet pieces, bearings, etc...). The swaps will eventually catch on decades later, but initially...the only folks swapping engines will be drift teams and high-profile tuning companies for off road use.I don't think the 4cyl is going to get more attention than the 6. You are also assuming that a swap can be easily done. Who knows if it's just going to be able to be dropped in or if it will end up being a nightmare to install. We also have no idea what either of these engines are capable of as far as being tuned or aftermarket. For all we know, these motors could end up making the 2J inferior... doubtful, but still too early to tell.I'm just doing the math.
the model 20i?
model 30i -> price 20i + ~ 10k
model 40i -> price 20i + ~ 20k
the 40i + 2k stage 2 will do a little more than 420ch.
if you take a 20i you have a good base chasi especially new. For 10k you put a 2jz engine parts adaptable you have more than 700ch.
The choice would be quickly made for me swap cost same price than 30i for more power than 40i.
Unfortunately swap it’s not allowed in my country ...
Swap not easily done but A90 swap more faster than gt86You are also assuming that a swap can be easily done. For me if the original supra mk4 without mod is so expensive still in our day it's not for its original power.I wonder what some of you guys want from that car.
Are all of you driving around in 1000+ hp mkiv's and showing off at every traffic light by burning you're tires?
You don't even have the autobahn where you are "alowed" to go as fast as the car can go.
A wise man said, that there is a point when to much power makes you move the car slower instead of faster.
500-600hp is plenty enough for the road and the track, and the b58 should do this with a few mods.
Of course not....more realistically, 930whp .Are all of you driving around in 1000+ hp mkiv's and showing off at every traffic light by burning you're tires?
