BMW model codes include Supra (J29) with auto transmission, 4 and 6 cylinder engines

Bimmerpost was obviously wrong about it being called "SPX" and the chassis code "J29". So I wouldn't worry to much about the auto only part.
SPX AND J29 are just internal development codes. Similar to how the BRZ was the AS-1.

I see, thanks. Browsing through their forum I see some insider members have wrong about it using a carbon fiber tub chassis, having a transaxle, and the release date being late this year. I'm just the type that doesn't tend to freak out about online rumors. I'll wait for the official press release before crying wolf.
