Yeah, the type R is a serious performance package and is likely to be a serious undercutting competitor. 306 HP @ 3,111 lbs and $34k (without dealer mark ups) is nothing to laugh out. Focus RS with 345hp @ 3,434 and $42k. Based on what we know about the power, looks like it'll be in between or nearby price-wise. The previous z4 started at $49k though so seems like it or the new z4 might be in the 40's.It would be really sad if a riced out Civic out perform any trim levels of the new 'Supra'.
Toyota lineup:Hmmm.. I just checked the Toyota website and built myself an GT86 premium with every sexy option (1600 dollar wheels, performance exhaust, trd lowering springs, swaybar, the whole ball of wax - it came out to $33,700.
What if base model with no accessories cost roughly$36K-$40K to price itself in range of the WRX STI/370Z Nismo, with higher models reaching at or just above the previously mentioned 55K-60K corvette/cayman? The Lexus RCF starts at 63K-65K, so bridging the gap between the 34K GT 86 Premium and the 64K base model RCF might be something to think about? Maybe?
Man I can't wait for Geneva, I'm itching lol.
