That got you? Not the CF pattern going in 18,000 different directions?
Can’t unsee that now either ?

I was way to hyper focused on the lettering after I saw it for some reason I didn’t even notice the carbon going in multiple directions lmao

Carbon fiber is made out of carbon fabric after all. When a piece of fabric wraps on a round wheel, what do you think will happen, still going straight? :p

Bought an OEM steering wheel on eBay for $120. Took it to a custom steering wheel shop in China to rewrap using OEM core (for maximum compatibility and safety) spent about $250 for labor, including the airbag cap. Very happy with the result. Everything here is very high quality and beyond my expectations.

the grey of the airbag cover is going over the yellow supra font ?

I'd be interested to know what LIN_VARIANTE_MFL is set to on both your wheels.
It should be under BDC_BODY_3. Mine is set to ACC and Set works. Resume/Cancel/LIM do not for me.
I wanted to follow up on this. I tried my SET button again this weekend, and it does work. Not sure why I thought it didnt. It would be incredible if we could get RES/CANCEL working too.

talking to another forum member with a MY24 auto EVERY button works. plug and play. just needed to reset srs. only reason i was hesitant to do the LCI wheel was cause not every button works and coding was required

Hmm. That means its simply a matter of getting the right settings. I wonder what the best way to compare settings for the wheel is.

I genuinely wonder if it's just an istep update thats needed. I haven't had mine updated at all due to my unlocked ECU.

I'm guessing most with older Supra's are probably in the same boat... Especially seeing these wheels come with buttons from a 23/24 MY?

BDC & KOMBI are my bets! Going to call up a Euro-shop and see if it's something I can do without re-locking my DME.
I'd love to have the buttons work, but not down to pay $1.5-2k for them to work ?

You can do that with ESYS. You can select individual things to update.

ISTA is all or none.

Yes - it's under BDC -> 3141 PfLinMFL -> LIM_VARIANTE_MFL.
If you have Bimmercode, could you also check @Dven11?
I don't have a wheel to test, but i believe using these settings will allow any modern bmw steering wheel combo to work, so long as they're not super old.

LIN_VARIANTE SZL (steering wheel stalks) = nicht_aktiv Disabled
LIN_VARIANTE_LRE (steering wheel internals) = nicht_aktiv Disabled
LIN VARIANTE MFL (steering wheel buttons) = nicht_aktiv Disabled

I'll test it when I get home (currently out of the country) - one thing I noticed when I installed my heated toggle button was that Chineseum™ controls were used. Honestly an impressive amount of engineering.
I have a set of OEM Valeo's that I can check with too.

I bring news:
I tested it on the Chineseum controls, and the resume/cancel/lim buttons still don't work, so that's unfortunate. I also misplaced my OEM Valeo controls, so I ordered a new set: https://ebay.us/m/vJQATz
Once it gets here, I'll reply with the updates.

I did code in the settings someone tried for enabling the heated steering (with compatible wheels) and it did work, so that's cool! Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, am too lazy to search, but here it is if anyone needs it:

For heat functionality you need to change the following settings:
BDC_BODY3:
CODDT_BYTE_00_LRE_LIN: nicht aktiv -> LHZ_RHE_mit_TASTER
CTRL-HOD_CODG_STWH_LIN: nicht verbaut -> verbaut
LHZ_CCM_IKF: nicht aktiv -> aktiv
LIN_VARIANTE_LRE: Ire_t|c -> Ire_tle_Ihz_taster
LRE_LHZ_VERBAUT: nicht aktiv -> aktiv

HU_NBT2:
AKT_AUTO_LENKRADHEIZUNG: nicht aktiv -> aktiv

I'll note my LIN_VARIANTE_LRE doesn't have TLE, it has TLC and that seemed to work for me. Wonder if typo in post, but it did work. There was one additional thing he mentioned in the HU, though mine didn't have it, and still works, and displays on the gauge cluster when it's activated/deactivated. Can send pics if anyone wants them. He also flagged it as HU_MGU? Not sure why as we have NBT. MGU should be on G series and up.

If the above instructions do work w/ the Valeo G series controls, we should probably declutter and aggregate into the great bimmercode thread, or a new thread just to centralize things...

And obviously credit to the original poster, Mike E, and whoever else contributed to finding it :D

I will say it again… use a tire valve stem remover to release the springs. It helps to clip in the spring and not pop off.
Or thin phillips screwdriver, I found that was better than using a flathead.

All the buttons work for me. Let me know if there is anything else I can share on my end.
If you encounter any buttons that don't work, can you code them to work or is it a wiring thing?
