Define locked? If you are referring to your ECU related manufacture date, use the search function on the forum plz. Manufactured 6/2020 and newer are a no go.

If you have a 2019 manufacture date, normal tuning rules apply to you. Only those that are 6/20 and later are security bricked....for now.
Gotcha. I just don’t know if my car would have been flashed when I got it in for an oil change. But is see 110s and not 120s so we good I think

Some 2020 manufactured cars need to be benchunlocked before ECU tuning e.g. BM3

Honestly easiest way to check is to just take a look at your ECU date on the ECU plate itself. Just pop the hood it takes 5 minutes.

My only real question is, do you even know what you are asking? Just the question "Do i need to be unlocked" poses so many questions. What exactly do you mean here?

Are you trying to tune the car? If yes then your ECU needs to be manufactured prior to a specific date. Seeing as how you said you bought your Supra in 2019, it means that the ECU can be unlocked and tuned.

Are you asking if the ECU was previously unlocked and was tuned? Did you buy new or did you buy used?

Are you asking if the ECU comes from the factory unlocked? Well technically no. All ECU's come coded with a "lock", however many tuners have been able to "unlock" the ECU in order to let their software control the numbers and therefore can give you a tune.

Are you never going to tune the car? Well then no it doesnt matter if the ECU can be unlocked or not. Were you asking if your ECU needed to be unlocked in order to just drive it around in stock form? No not at all.

Please try to be more specific, that way people can give you the right information instead of just assuming to understand what you are saying.

OP,

based on your ROM ID in the screenshot provided, your ECU does not need a bench unlock. you can flash straight away with MHD since that looks like what you're using.

Thanks man! Do I need a MHD license just to do a back end flash with a JB4?

JB4 is piggyback, meaning you didn't even need to know anything about your ECU. It works on all.
BM3, MHD, EcuTek, etc are ECU flash solutions which require unlocked ECU.
there are pros and cons to both.
if you want to be on the safe side of warranty JB4 or any other piggyback like Titan ProTune, SprintBooster, etc.. will work. Mind you none of them is stealthy to an experienced tech. they'll see the boost is above normal in a heart beat if they dug a bit deeper..

yes you need flash license to be able to flash the car whether its full flash only or stacked with JB4

The safety the piggyback provides
The factory ecu still has fail safes from blowing itself up. It will cut timing, boost, etc on it's own if it runs too lean. IMO, if you are flashing the ecu there is no need to let the JB4 manipulate the boost pressure.
