How you are guys doing? New to the Forums and just purchased the Pearl White A90 about 3 weeks ago. I know its fairly a short time since the release, just wondering if anyone has seen any rumors or murmurs about carbon build-up? I know GDI engines are notorious for that and don't know why they don't do a port/di system. Just curious.
Thanks

I think we'll have to wait for people to have 50-80k miles to start even thinking about that stuff.

If you plan on setting up meth injection, it would help a bit out with carbon deposits. Also, Titan came out with a Pure 800 kit that will include port injection, which should help further.. would be a perfect excuse to upgrade!!

Anyone having any carbon build-up issues now that some higher miles are on these engines?

Every GDI car has carbon deposit problems. It's the "fatal flaw" of direct injection, and B58 is no exception.

You have three options on a GDI car.

1) Run a PCV and CCV catch can ASAP.
2) Walnut blast the valves every 30K as regular maintenance.
3) Run port injection or per-cylinder meth to bathe the valve seats.

I intend to pursue all three on my Supra, and the need for #2 will basically vanish with PI.
