New update!
Toyota ISTA 4.37.31
https://www.toyota-tech.eu/DiagnosticTools/Software/ISTA

Will install and test in a few.
To see if there is a new iStep available.
Was previously 4.34.41 (S18T-22-03-535).

Edit: I forgot, won't be updating my iStep as tuned on BM3 recently lol.

^^^ I don't believe it lists the changes but can you post what modules it updated??
I'll do a compare in E-SYS when I install the new version.
Should breakdown all the version updates across all the ECUs.

On the main channel of ISTA+ 4.39.2X.
Z4 (G29) latest iStep is S18A-22-11-544.

Just got back from the dealership. They installed the latest available iLevel:

S18T-22-07-530
There was a S18T-22-07-530 spotted in this thread, as you already know.

My dealer won’t do the iStep update (after being there twice and asking them specifically to do it to hopefully get rid of throttle hesitation) because “there isn’t a service bulletin”, so I’m pretty much set on doing this myself.

Any gotcha’s or particular vehicle setup requirements? The ISTA papers say “precisely straight, level, etc.”, how true is that?
Hi
if I understood correctly with this list I should be able to connect the Supra and check if there are any updates to do ?
GTS TECHSTREAM - licensed -
ISTA - licensed -
BMW ENET CABLE
NOTEBOOK Win10/11
10A - 45A CHARGE MAINTAINER or only 75A?

Anyone successfully have wording for the dealer to get them to do it? Seems like it's an hour work for them which means they won't just do it as a favor. I have had throttle hesitation but dealers of course love reproducing the issue first.

Maybe tell them you'll pay!

Found some time between the holidays to install the new version.
Here's what I've found in the new psdzdata files:

Toyota ISTA:
4.34.41S18T-22-03-535 (March 2022)
4.37.31S18T-22-07-550 (July 2022)

Looks to be a small revision increment, 535 -> 550.
Planning to do a ESYS compare on each ECU, when I get the time.

If I haven't gotten either recalls done yet, and I go in - do they update the whole system to the latest? Or do they only update to the exact version prescribed by the recall?

Cheers everyone. I recently got my hands on a 2.0 Fuji Speedway and as expected, it still runs the old software. Now getting all the cables and software to try and run the update.

I actually already installed Toyota ISTA and Techstream (didn't buy a license yet since I still miss the cable), but for those who already did the procedure, do I get it right that ISTA will not even start if a techstream license is not active?

No issues other than needing to calibrate EPS at the end.
I'm about to do the same process in the next week. Just to double check your feedback, what's the EPS? Mostly trying to check if you actually any severe issue or just some standard post update calibration required.

EPS = Electronic Power Steering
It just wants to learn new values after reset at the end.
Can do it through ISTA or without by turning wheel max left and right.

Anybody tried updating with EDC error cancellers still plugged into the car? I have KW EDC cancellers and coilovers installed on the car.. would be annoying if I needed to plug stock dampers back in.

Oh, got it, so it’s like a normal post update configuration. Thanks!

all in all everything looks simple. Just trying to get a decent power source because right now I only have a 5A charger and I don’t think that would be enough, even though the battery is quite new

This post is really interesting. I’ll be getting these EDC cancellers as well. Eventually. Assuming these “updates” will help with other computer glitches? I get tons of random thing. Just figure these BMWs are quirky. Or so I’ve been told from other track peeps. I absolutely LOVE my car!!!! Bought it for mainly tracking.

In simple terms, if possible, what’s the advantage of having the latest software?

Appreciate y’all letting me ask the dumb questions ✌🏼
