I have a 2022 3.0L and i know the car is good for 150 mph but i think the top speed is restricted. Trying to figure out how to get to its true speed.....Any ideas

While running at No Fly Zone a few months ago I discovered the digital speedometer stops at 163mph, which seemed odd for a digital speedometer.

Car should go up to 888, right? Something's definitely wrong.

Why do you feel the need to go faster that 163? I’ve never seen / heard of any street race going any faster. What rolls do people do in your area in order to want to go that fast?

Because that's 250 kph.
No it isn't. 163 mph is just over 262 km/h.

I don't know why BMW/Toyota decided on 163 mph, but it's not because it's 250 km/h.

honestly I always thought it was 155mph until we found out 163 on Supra..
They're leaving 5% for margin of error?

250 x 1.05 = 262.5 kph = 163.1 mph
155 x 1.05 = 162.75 mph

The speedos in our cars are calibrated a little higher. There's a bimmercode fix for this. I'm sure the actual speed lines up to something.

I don’t know what the car is limited to stock. When I mentioned to my tuner that the speedo stopped at 163, it was the first he had heard of it. But I know not many people are half mile racing and probably haven’t experienced that yet with the mkv.

All of my time slips were between 169-171mph, and you could still feel the car accelerating at the 163mph mark, the dash just says otherwise. Not what I’d expect from a digital dash.
