Battery question

So I’m more confused now than when I started. Can someone tell me what is best to do. Should I just install a factory battery.

If you don’t care about weight, just get another oem battery.

I have seen a lot of people mention hooking up trickle chargers.. when are those necessary? I typically take the supra out on the weekends.. sits around and looks pretty the rest of the time.

I think this is perfect time to insert Scotty Kilmer ? Love this guy! He recommends using a trickle charger as well. Especially if your car sits around a bit. Play the video below ? for at least 2 mins. And if you watch the whole thing, you’ll crack up as well. He has funny little pop up pics while he’s teaching. Hilarious ?

My car has 3300 miles and a Totally dead battery. Kinda ridiculous. I will drive it for an hour and charge it. Dead the next day.
So I will just do the oem I guess

That sucks dude! I would do that and watch the video above Scotty goes over all the various reasons why that could happen.

If you want to stick to a Toyota dealer, do like @FuzzyRev85 says for sure. He’s a great resource to us here on the forum. I wish he was in my neck of the woods for warrantee work. Knows his shit 4sho!

Battery registration is literally pushing a button, selecting the right AH rating, pushing another button and that's it. Super easy to do with Bimmerlink.

Don't let dealers tell you it's anything more than that.

Sorry probably already answered somewhere else, but does this work only for bmw batteries or also an antigravity?
Saving 30kg sounds great but not if my dashboard becomes a flashing christmas tree...

Antigravity works fine w/o coding anything.

It’s just telling the charging system what aH the battery is. The system has no idea what brand battery it is.

Some of the new M cars even come with oem lithium batteries.

Thank you guys, I thought it had to do as well with to this kind of explosive fuse in case of accident in the oem battery. Glad to hear that's more simple

See if the dealer will warranty the battery? And if they do, get a trickle charger so it doesn't die again.
