Sorry for the delay in updates. I am spending way too much time trying to get the inner duct surface quality acceptable. The goal was to have both the inner and outer surface of the ducts to have a nice smooth finish. Usually only the inner OR outer can be smooth when making carbon parts, but not both at the same time. I thought I would be able to do it using multi piece molds and hand sanding, but it is proving to be too complex.

I think I am going to cut my losses and offer the outside trim in carbon, with the inner duct in durable matte plastic like ASA-CF instead.

Does anyone know the proper process to start a group buy? Do I need get admin or moderator approval?

If you've figured out a way to allow driver's assist package owners to use it without having to delete a sensor you can put me on the list.

Would this require disabling / removing anything on a manual car? It has driver assist package but manuals don’t have the adaptive cruise control. Just not sure if it would impact collision warning or lane keep assist.

interested if all of my other functionality remains

That’s in the KAFAS camera on the windshield.

If you have a MT there is nothing to remove. It is empty behind the bumper and all functionality is retained. There is one minor part that needs to be trimmed, but that's on a cheap plastic part that doesn't even show.

If you have a AT with drivers assist, the front radar is removed and you will lose cruise control. The car gets recoded to remove the errors.

Possible protool coding solution, though it was on an older car. Will keep digging.

$540 might be a backup option, if available

It might be possible to use bimmercode instead, for f-series and above. However, their use case was a blocked sensor, not a removed sensor.

Additionally, we might be able to turn cruise distance buttons into a speed limiter (for example, cities with speed cameras).

Thanks for links, I will be writing step-by-step instructions for the AT owners who needs recoding. Great info!

Here are some photos of the final product. Took a while to get the plastic duct looking good. It is made with heat and UV resistant ASA. I'm pretty happy with the finish, but there are still some minor surface imperfections. The satin finish on the carbon part is pretty flawless. I'll take some more photos when I get it installed on my car.

Now I just need to figure out the group buy... and write the recoding instructions for AT owners. Almost there guys!

Again, that looks better than most parts being passed by vendors on here. Amazing work.

When you say AT loses cruise control, do you mean entirely or just the radar based cruise portion? I don't need no stinkin' radar when everyone already left lane camps around here.

It replaces a dead section on the manual but in the autos (premium in the US?) that dead section is where the radar is located for the adaptive cruise control.
