I had coded auto start/stop a few months ago and suddenly it’s not coded anymore.

When I try to recode it, does nothing. The first start up after coding, it will flash the no start/stop for a second then goes away.

I also tried coding auto start/stop memory function and it does nothing.

I saw some people who did the recall on the data module had this problem, but my car has not seen a dealer since I’ve owned it.

Anyone have this issue or have a fix?

I think I’m having the same issue. I originally coded it and didn’t code in the option to start in sport mode and it worked fine. Now I’ve had the car start in sport for months and after finally going back to comfort (or whatever it’s called) the auto start stop is enabled and I have to toggle it again. Do you also have yours starting in sport?

I'd say if the auto on/off cannot be toggled off you should probably get the recall done before it damages the brake diaphragm.

I don't think people were rushing to get out of park during initial start causing the thing to crank backwards. I think it was during traffic stops when they let off the brake triggering the auto engine start.

I haven’t received notice of a recall, I have a 2024 if that matters.

Yeah, my post was intended for anyone with a 2020 like mine that is under the recall campaign. You should be fine with yours.

I’ve had lane assist magically turn itself back on and then refuse to turn off.. but after multiple toggles, it stuck. Sometimes the car thinks the setting is off when it’s visibly on. ?‍♂
I’ve coded the auto start stop 6 times, so now just given up. Sent an email to BimmerCode, hoping they have a fix soon. The memory function should really be standard from the factory…

There is no fix for it currently. It's a problem on all modern BMWs past a certain software version.

You can re-disable it if you have the 8-speed and use xHP.

Just as an update to this thread.

Now the auto start/stop is working again.

The only change I’ve made is I sent out my DME to Femto 2 weeks ago and flashed MHD stage 2.

Maybe part of the Femto process involves rolling back some of the firmware? Or could just be #BMWThings, lol.
