I just installed Clutch Masters 1000 series twin disc with Aluminum flywheel + Hydraulic Release Bearing. We had faced a few issues with the shims that comes with the hydraulic release bearing cause there is no direct instructions on how many pieces we need to put in there, but thanks to CES Motorsport they shared with us the information we needed on how many shims we need to put in the hydraulic release bearing. The thing that I’m worried about is the clutch pedal feeling, it feels that the clutch has two steps.

Gears are engaging smoothly with the first step and the same with the second step. I just kept shifting with first pedal step because second step too much travel and they are the same engagement feeling. So, I don’t know if it’s something that i should worry about or not.

What do you mean by 2 steps for the clutch?

Are you saying you are shifting by pressing the clutch pedal half way or something like that?

I think that second step is the diaphragm spring in the pressure plate over centreing which isn't great and will probably lead to eventual spring failure. In other words the release bearing travel is too great or it's shimmed too closely to the pressure plate spring fingers. I guess you could use an adjustable pedal stop to prevent the second step considering it's releasing fine without going past that second step. Thats what I would do.
