As much as I fucking hate auto start/stop (and I’ve coded it out on my ‘22). This is a first world problem, like no sync on the climate control.
It’s not worth getting spun up about. 1 button push and it’s off.
In a way we are lucky the Supra has the button to disable start/stop. Some of the newer BMWs (e.g. US spec 2021-2024 M340i) had the button removed. That said, I plan to keep my car on the 03/2022 I-level forever if possible.

So far my coding it to remember last setting is still working on my '21.
Im just hoping I never need to take it to the dealership for a warranty issue.
?
They won't notice it, and even if they did, the tech won't care.

The only way it could be a warranty issue is if you try to get them to fix the car because the start/stop doesn't work any more.

Sorry but that's a ridiculous thing to say. Sports cars are in and of themselves a first world phenomenon. Calling issues with them "first world problems" doesn't excuse their existence nor the carelessness of the designers that brought them to fruition. ?‍♂

He’s referring to the software being updated that causes this coding to no longer work. Or, at least, that’s what I would be referring to.

Good to know for the AT guys! I assume that won’t work on MT
i don't think i've met someone that drives in normal mode in their MT! lol

code to start in sport, configure sport individual to meet your needs? such as sport engine, normal dampening? would be how i'd tackle this

The split was right around June/July 2023 manufacturing date cars, and any cars that has later softwares will not work. I was kinda bummed at first but it became a regular routine to just to hit the start/stop button right by the handbrake right after I start the car, I'm just glad it's not a button hidden somewhere to buried in a touchscreen menu.

<cough>Tesla<cough>
haha. As much as I like the new Volvos, 3 in the family and I drive one of them, the start/stop is 1 swipe and 1 click away on the screen and it's about 100x more annoying to deactivate than the supra's 1 easily accessible button

Not a Corvette.
I still have the start/stop button in my 2021 330i (and it also remembers) and the LCI 340i’s also have it back in there

A Tesla has start/stop?
No. But I went for a ride in a coworker's dad's Plaid, and in that you (I'm not kidding here) have to use the touchscreen to change from a forward direction to reverse, or vice versa.

FWIW that car is stupid fast.
