Just installed the HPS screw. Noob question though, when I unscrewed the OEM version while the engine was cool, I heard a little hiss with a rush of air. Iā€™m assuming thatā€™s normal because itā€™s a pressurized or closed system?

Its completely normal, mine did the same thing. Itā€™s ok for a little of the residual pressure to bleed off when opened.

Is there even a chance with the stock one failing if it's never touched?
Yes, they have failed under normal driving conditions. The screw itself is flawed. They cored out the center of it just below the philips cross. And then they added a small notch along the threads. The wall sections in that area are thin.

The screw feels like its made of ginger bread, it weighs almost nothing.

Do you have any photos of it failing. Some of my a90 Supra people donā€™t understand the point of it being replaced. I just like the bling! Lol

I think that the biggest issue will be that 90% of the failures will be at the worst possible time... when you actually needed to remove it and it simply disintegrates in the bung. Not sure how often that occurs and what factors are relevant - but I know here in the desert, anything plastic will eventually fail. The thinner it is the faster it will fail.

I'd be concerned with galvanic corrosion with the brass female threads and Ti bleeder screw.
