the remnant sound clips sound pretty badass. and AWE resonated touring checks those boxes

I’ve owned a few, and can confidently say you want two things (straight through muffler and a catted DP). As much as I love my AWE it’s not nearly as low and deep as the HKS. The Injen setup is also low and deep, but the HKS takes the cake. AWE howls and has crazy mid range that’s super loud. I think it does the best job to accentuate the B58.

curious how stock DP and HKS dual sounds. That might be even deeper and not super loud.

*source is me. I’ve owned HKS. Injen. AWE Touring Res. AWE touring non res. Currently on the car and my favorite is the Touring Non Res. The Res is a close second. Sound is unmatched IMO

No. AWE is a ton of mid range. Not deep like HKS/Injen that have a straight muffler. The AWE touring is just a Helmholtz resonator that kills drone. It’s loud and mid range. I haven’t heard remnant in person, but with the big diameter I bet it’s pretty deep. Not sure what the muffler design is

I would say the Borla is deep as well. Awe resonated touring as well.

I have the Remark Ti and it is pretty deep. HKS is also pretty deep and is highly recommended by people who have it, at least with all the cats.

Oh thanks ! Wich HKS do you have ( Turbo muffler ? Hi power ? ) ? Im aiming the HKS Dual Hi-Power Catback exhaust. What Catted DP do you have ? Any CEL ? Tuning required ? does it affect car reliability ?

Thnak you

My vote goes towards what I personally run, which is the magnaflow x mod. Muffler on the non valved side and no muffler on the valved side. Even with the stock downpipe it was pretty deep but with an AA dp that I had modified for a 3.5” exit to mate with the bigger piece the magnaflow comes with makes it deeper than most I’ve heard. I can post some sound clips next time I take it out if you’d like.

How many variations of the Magnaflow have you heard? Any other exhausts in person?

I’ve heard mine with stock downpipe and with the modified AA dp I have. There are some YouTube videos of the magnaflow exhaust as well that different creators have posted. I’ve also heard most of the Chicago Supra groups cars when we took a little road trip to a show but I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head what they all had for exhaust setups but subjectively mine sounds like one of the deepest. That could also just be me being used to in-cabin sound vs standing outside though so grain of salt.

Yeah I bet the Magna with the large mid pipe is pretty deep too. Like a cross between the Injen and HKS!

asking because I haven’t heard it in person! Some people say it was too loud, even with the resonator it has.

The best way to describe the loudness bump would be that if the regular exhaust was what it was, the magnaflow exhaust with the valve closed and the mufflers setup like I do is about as loud in normal as it used to be with the valves open, then in sport it’s even louder. Then that same jump where magnaflow with stock dp open is now how loud it is while closed with the car in sport now being a good bit louder. The exception being cruising on the highway with the valve closed now where for some reason it’s actually quieter than with the stock downpipe.
It’s definitely on the louder side but I don’t find it to be too much compared to other cars you hear with a high flow downpipe and a decent cat back. Definitely can’t start it in the middle of the night anymore in a neighborhood though unless your neighbors really tolerate you.

Interesting! It really seems way louder in videos.

the AWE is horrid loud on cold start, even with a catted DP but it’s so smooth once warmed up. Really howls too
