I have a catless DP, with a Extreme Online Store exhaust. The $720 complete setup. Its the deepest I have ever heard. Compared to the AWE and HKS throaty and deepness. I would say this exhaust is a tad deeper, inside and out. For the fitment, quality and sound, its very hard to beat!!!

Since it’s a muffler setup I believe it very deep!! Looks and sounds good too. AWE is so unique in their sound

HKS is deep and smooth. Magnaflow isn't quite as deep and had more of a growl/rasp to it.

I've owned both exhausts. I got rid of the Magnaflow because it was way too loud in cabin for daily driving and made my doors rattle.

I’d prefer the deepest sound possible. Appreciate your take on the HKS. I’m interested because my AWE track sounds incredible but the drone is pretty bad and it is always on. Can’t you turn the Magnaflow off/on? That’d be a great feature! Neighborhood buddy has an Active Autowerks exhaust & dp combo he can turn off and on. Sounds great! Not sure if both are needed for that function.

Borla!! They were always easy to deal with, sound great and out of TN, I believe. My wife’s fav exhaust by far! We absolutely loved it on her Mustang GT. Plus those exhaust tips look sweet ?

My vote goes towards what I personally run, which is the magnaflow x mod. Muffler on the non valved side and no muffler on the valved side. Even with the stock downpipe it was pretty deep but with an AA dp that I had modified for a 3.5” exit to mate with the bigger piece the magnaflow comes with makes it deeper than most I’ve heard. I can post some sound clips next time I take it out if you’d like.

How did you modify it? I’m running the magnaflow but straight on both sides with the larger pipe installed. Looking to go AA down pipe. Thanks!

Curious on what y’all think the most durable aftermarket exhaust is (besides a straight pipe)? A lot of my miles are on track. Her underbelly can get a bit toasty. Recent (top) pic and (bottom) pic from Homestead about a year ago. I was thinking of converting her from track to touring version to get rid of the drone. But that won’t make a difference with the heat issues, unfortunately.

Mechanic buddy gets a discount on the full titanium one below. Thinking it might be more durable. However, I’ve heard titanium doesn’t hold up as well with prolonged heat & track ?‍

Can’t you turn the Magnaflow off/on?

I mean if you are referring to the exhaust valve then yes it retains the valve. Even with that though, it droned like a mofo anywhere around the 2k rpm mark. It would literally make the door panels rattle.

So the AA downpipe is whatever size, then it straightens out to mate to the exhaust then reduces in size. I had them cut off that last reduction and do a 3.5” reducer instead to mate to the bigger magnaflow piece.

On the magnaflow side? Nah. Or if it is they didn’t tell me, but I specifically told them to only touch the downpipe and not to touch the other piping.

That is so odd! I have the Magnaflow and the drone is not an issue. If anything maybe a little bit at around 2500 rpm but it is barely noticeable?

You heard right. Most titanium exhaust are nearly considered consumables because of how often they need to be replaced. Worth it for some teams because of the weight savings, but they don't last long as you mentioned.

You're running the AWE track? I had some welds crack on my AWE exhaust on my old STi, and they replaced that part of the pipe for me!

Regarding deep exhausts -- I got the HKS exhaust because from most of the sound clips, it was one of the deeper ones that didn't have drone. I love it, but having a catless downpipe made it slightly more raspy and less "deep" than when paired with a catted DP.

Appreciate it PowerGetter! I’ll send AWE an email and see if they can do the same. I would definitely stick with them if they do & eventually get the touring.

Anywhere from like 1800 - 2500 rpm under any sort of load the exhaust would boom inside the cabin. At first I was able to deal with it, but it got to me over time. I experienced this with both my stock DP and my AA catted DP. It wasn't like Honda straight piped fart can levels of brain rattling but once I started hearing rattling in my door panels I knew I had to change it.

If you are looking for a deep exhaust, buy an HKS universal single muffler and have a quality fab shop fabricate a custom exhaust. I just went this route and it sounds like nothing else on the market. Very deep and has more of that Japanese jdm sound. Sounds almost like an RB25/26. It’s ridiculously good. Here is a short clip from another guy that has this setup.



It’s huge under the car but require very minimal trimming of bumper.
