This looks great!!! I currently have an aramaspeed intake this dinan intake looks like it will heat soak less than the arma? Any insight on this anyone??? Also are the turbo sounds loud with this still?
Honestly, Armspeed and Dinan shouldn’t be in the same sentence. The R/D, quality, and performance of Dinan products for BMW blows Armspeed away. They been providing products for the BMW world back in the days……

I’m thinking i might be making the switch possibly for the sake of IAT temps. I love the sound of the arma but i think this might be the better route

Same here. Not to mention the price! In the videos, it sounds just as loud as the armaspeed as well

Us too. =)

For all those waiting for additional user reviews. comments on sound, etc. I would imagine you would start seeing those later this week, or at latest, early next week if folks wanted to put it through its paces over the weekend before they put ink to paper.

Nice! Be sure to let us know what you think of it all.

Next up -- the exhaust to complete the makeover.

@Dinan_Engineering

Were the gains made on the B58 with intake only or with the inlet pipe? Thanks!
Power charts shown on the product pages are Intake only. Saw no meaningful power benefit (all within dyno variance) on the inlet by itself. Inlet for all practical purposes is primarily a sound and efficiency modification as far as we are concerned.

Will add the charts to the main post as well just so its there.

Two questions and a comment:

1. Why the slots in the side of the airbox if this mates up to the factory cold air inlet?
2. Re: the heat shield, will this fit with the Verus turbo heat shield installed?
3. Please don't ever move away from the clip securing the inlet pipe to the turbo. ?

If i hadn't of scooped up a used HKS full carbon box for a good deal - this would 100% be ... the one. I expect to see a lot more of these on cars in the future.

1. Sound.
2. Never been tested so couldn't say with absolute certainty but from what I can see from photos if the Verus heat shield works with a stock intake it would likely work with the Dinan intake. Nothing obvious stands out to me that would interfere anyway.
3. Noted. =)

Interesting. Thank you for the information. Modifying intake/exhaust for me is almost purely for sound purposes, so I appreciate this approach to engineering the product. Curious though, did you dyno test a box that was completely closed? It appears the slots are the opposite turbo-side so the heat intake is probably negligible in-motion (i.e., most of the time).
