Driving without a hood?

Ok, strange question... Can you temporarily drive without a hood for say, 30 miles (30 minutes)?

I'm trying to get some cosmetic work done but want to know if I can drop off my hood then drive home in the meantime. Nobody I know has a big enough truck to fit our hoods in and I don't want to rent a truck for $80 a day if I can avoid it.

I have a carbon hood and an OEM hood, so I would put one back on as soon as I returned home. Just curious if there's anything in the engine bay I have to worry about. I'd remove the engine cover obviously and would avoid any potential inclement weather.

You will be fine to drive it. Like you said, just pop the engine cover off to be safe.

You'd have to tie/hold down the washer fluid lines that run along the top of the hood and remove the engine cover, but other than that it should be perfectly fine. The car will otherwise probably yell at you the whole time saying the hood is open but that won't stop you from being able to drive it.

Didn't know if I'd get some kind of immobilizer kick in along with the "hood open" warning while driving.

Yes, forgot about the washer line. Thank you for that reminder. I'd zip tie that to the cowl along with the hinges near the windshield.
