No. My dealer, to their credit, did not try to press me too hard on the upsell. I was fine with the factory warranty given the low miles I put on the car and the prospect that I will likely mod mine. Just felt like wasted money—even more so than the typical extended warranty.

I would suggest if you want a VSA email this person..... Well noted on other Toyota forums, and I confirmed I can share her email..... That is where I purchased mine, for much lower than any of the other costs shared. Its for the Toyoguard Platinum. Note if you deal with her, she will send you a table of the costs and all options. DO NOT share/post that information.

Thanks for this post, this information is still good. I just contacted her this week to buy mine. Better pricing then I got from any other dealer I contacted. Anyone looking id definitely suggest you fire off an email before you buy elsewhere just to see.

The dealer in my country only sells the car with 3 years warranty, I asked them for an extended one and they said it's not available

While I got a great deal on the vehicle, the warranty offer was less than stellar:

I just cx my dealership one. Got one from her for my Tacoma and will get the same for the A91 when the refund comes in. I'm not generally an extended warranty person - decline them for everything, but this car has too many electronic motors, actuators and computers. And in AZ the heat can wreak havoc on these things - even parked in a garage.

Agreed. I’m always a “no” but this time probably a “yes.”

For those looking at the Tire/Key/Glass/Door Ding option you have on your screenshot, that should be no more than $800. I paid $765.

Is this price only for new cars? Can you get it on a used one?

I did not get an extended warranty. I'm sure there will be weird pop-up issues during the warranty period and for sure after.

Yeah I’m not an extended warranty type of guy.

The worst investment is the upsell at time of meeting with the finance department finalizing your transaction.

Many crack with the forced pressure (windshield, paint, rim/tire, door ding, leather protection, blah, blah, blah). Only $20 more a month, for this and that… This is where the dealer truly makes the money!

So many add an extended warranty to the price of the car (financed) at time of new. You already have a 3 year/36 mile warranty from the manufacture. Why double up for the first 3 years, for an extended warranty you can’t even use yet?!? Many sell their cars before the extended warranty time even begins = useless and wasted financed funds!

They are typically always a bad investment.

If you keep the car long enough (3 years), buy an extended warranty before the manufacture warranty expires… not when it’s new.
