Why did you go with purple for the background color on the website?
I think the purple is a great choice. Dark enough to get the point of the sites creation, yet soft enough to calm the viewer and not piss them off. Almost a "See?" without the "I told you so"....

FWIW, I think that makes a lot of sense. For the person that has a downpipe and maybe not much else, I am not sure what the tune is going to do over and above the JB4. To access performance beyond 450-500 whp, I think you have to look at a turbo upgrade. I don't think the tune, by itself, is going to unlock some new level of performance. But yes, there is a lot of discussion on this topic into which this could be consolidated.
It depends, for the ppl who are going with catless downpipe, keep in mind JB4 CANNOT help with the CEL.

Timing, Fuel Control, torque table changes. There's a few things, as far as output HP goes, you're right.

Just been introduced to the Supra life in the last few weeks I've been digging in finding out as much as I can regarding the ECU lockdown.

Seems that everyone is crazy about shipping their ECUs to Russia just for a clone/unlock. I did some looking into the company Femto that has been doing these unlocks, and they are advertising this OBD flashing solution.
I'm so curious about it I just had to post here, have a look at this link:

https://femtool.com/femto

Clearly they are on their way to the Supra next. Does this mean we're on the cusp of getting stock 21+ ECU flashed with Femto in our own homes? Has anyone been brave enough to buy a license? Surely it's not just me and my monkey brain who has found this out. Looking to hear from the veterans.
Very much wondering how this proprietary tuning solution will work, and what kind of power/features we will see come out of it (will it best Ecutek until a public exploit is available for the Bosch ECUs?).

Also any tuning shops need a test monkey? Looking at you @ppe @Jesse DaBears

Thanks everyone!
To answer your question, right this moment the ECU itself will still need to be shipped to FEMTO for the bench flash service (unlock) which enables flashing the ECU via OBD2. The FEMTO OBD flasher would then be able to flash the ecu via OBD2 port as normal.

Until FEMTO either releases there Master tool to others to buy to perform the unlocks stateside OR one of the other mainstream bench tools (Ktag, CMD, Autotuner, Bflash, Magic Flex, and etc) figures out how to perform the unlock you will still need to send to FEMTO in Russia to perform the unlock.

FEMTO OBD flasher will not have the extra features that MHD, BM3, MG flasher and Ecutek has. It will basically be a basic tune until they are able to feed in custom logic to the ecu for special features. WHat that means is, no fully adapted flex fuel, no antilag, no map switching and things of that nature. Just a tune.

I will be offering tunes for the FEMTO unlocked 21+ cars soon via other means then the FEMTO OBD2 flasher. I also could have offered the service of the FEMTO unlock a couple months ago, but i did not want to deal with the liability of having an ECU lost prior to getting to FEMTO, because that complicates things drastically.

I'll make a post in my sponsor section when things are ready to go. But at a minimum if people want a tune sooner than later for their locked 21+ ECU, then move forward with getting the FEMTO unlock at a minimum for right now. Because thats something that at a minimum will be needed to tune the car.

as always, any questions, just email me. sometimes i dont get the notifications here for PMs and etc. So err to the side of emailing me: [email protected]

But it can. It cannot keep it from coming on, but it does “help” by reading and erasing through the app.

This also means no inspection if you're in an area that does obd2 inspection. Because your monitors will reset every time it clears the code.

Femtool is perfectly fine for anyone who wants a STG1/STG2.

We have been using this with great success - all the same tuning from us, just different interface.

We prefer EcuTek RaceRom, better interface, better logging , map switching, flex fuel - all around easier.

BUT...someone who gets their ecu unlock in Russia now can always upgrade to a cloned ecu later.

We have had more than a few guys who got tuned by other vendors switch to our cloning service.

I would also advise against being someones experiment.
