Finally figured out the coding… No more freaking chirp when locking and unlocking the car!

Bimmercode to the rescue.

Now the acoustical option appears on the dash under ‘vehicle settings” … “doors/key” … “acoustic signal for lock/unlock” …. uncheck and it’s off.

Personal preference… I like the parking lights to flash but not the “look at me” chirps.

Silence is key. ? See steps below.

You must not have any trace of OCD.
I lock my other cars, hear the chirp, but press lock again to make sure.
Supra doesn't even chirp chime a 2nd time.

The worst ones are the Honda’s horns with the locking! Nearly waking the dead.

I’ll stick with the simplistic flash of the lights.

Just FYI- pressing the lock button on the fob a second time within 10 seconds of the first disables the tilt and interior motion sensors on the alarm. Presumably for folks who leave a dog or something in the car.

I also prefer light flash vs the (slightly too loud?) chirp. I really wish there was an option for the best of both worlds: 1st press flashes lights and locks the car. 2nd press chirps the alarm. One of the things I miss from my 370Z.

It was useful for when you locked it from out of sight.. then second guessed yourself like 5 seconds later as to whether it actually locked or not...

Is there a volume for this in any advanced setting? I want the beep 25% volume, full off isn't great imo

Unpopular opinion, but now that I have an upgraded horn, I wish I could have the horn chirp upon locking…and every time I hit the lock button again.

There is in BinmerCode. Turned mine down so it wasn’t ear piercing in the garage. Highly recommend it.
