Flashed back to stock and now won’t start HELP BM3

Oh, they 100% can. They just would NEVER admit it or promote it. It's highly illegal.

With some disassembly, I was able to spoof OEM CID and CVN on my previous platform but I would never admit that I did it.

Yea that's true, if they can gain access into the flexray protocol spoofing would be easy. Forgot about the EPA bitch slapping them with huge fines. I think turn14 paid out 4 million dollars to the EPA. God damnit, why the hell can't we just plant more trees.

Yup, only thing I can think of.

This is news to me, unlocked and tuned getting flagged at the smog station. Before they would just send you a notice to retest at the state ref. So curious to know the story behind OPs smog test.

Not sure if I’m late but you can’t flash to stock without locking the Ecu.

What you can do is create a customrom version of the stock tune and flash that

That is not true. I flash mine to stock (no customrom) at least every year for inspection.

I didn't realize how different states are....NH wants to make sure all your sensors are on/ready/working. I don't think they scanned deeper than that, as MHD Stage 0 + OEM Downpipe dropdown in the tune settings allowed me to pass without issue.

Correct me if I'm wrong I haven't been a smog technician for a few years (I ran a smog shop in northern California) - but the PnP piggy back style stand alone should pass smog, because it doesn't require you to flash your ECU so the CID and CVD would remain at factory values. One in theory could have a fully tuned MKV and never worry about flashing back to stock for smog inspections like the OP is going through. At least this is how it works on my haltech PNP BRZ.

Motec is not a piggyback. It's a full standalone ECU.

Powertune in australia also has something in the works, unsure if it's piggy back style or if you swap your ECU with it and use your existing harness but I'm assuming the later.
