I’m surprised it’s not moved up slightly to not cover the intake there. Is that not important for that side of the car? What cooling duct is there besides the brakes?

Just convert your tow hook to hold the license plate frame. https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=license+plate+tow+hook&ref=nb_sb_noss Just did a quick amazon search for you in Australia for ideas. Alternatively there are also retractable hide away front frame holders i have seen.
