Installed new turbo a few weeks ago and purchased custom flex fuel tune from sameh. Got basemap super quick, logged it, and got a revision soon after. I’ve logged that and haven’t heard from him in over a week. Emailed a few times and heard nothing - not even an all good. Is this typically how this stuff goes?

It's also TX2k this week. It's possible that he's backed up trying to get things done for that. Many of the tuners and shops are swamped around this time normally because of it.

Not sure if that's the case, but just something to consider.

If things are done how I do it. I tell people not to email back to back or every day or two.

Me I answer emails oldest to newest so each emailed bumps the prior one back to new. So sometimes that works against people.

If you paid him already, I would at least give him until after TX2K.... even though there are only like 40 bmws there including supra that are actually competing. So no tuner that's main/only thing is bmw should be overly busy jist because of TX2K. Maybe GTR, Mustang, lambo tuners and etc. But bmw is like 2% of the cars at TX2K.

But give your tuner the benefit of the doubt at least until after TX2K. Life can hit sometimes too.

If by chance you are still stuck after a couple weeks I'd say then find another tuner.

I'm generally around. Busy as everyone else. But around.

I’ve had him do 2 tune cycles with me. One before turbo upgrade and one after. He can be difficult to get ahold of sometimes but he’s always come through. He goes through cycles of responding. He’s also in the opposite time zone as I am, so usually I’m messaging him in the middle of his night. He’s always been good. I’d send him an Instagram message because that seems to yield better results.

Yep. I had a tuner that I gave up on after 5 months, in that time I got 4 revisions and it was completely unusable on track.

Best remote tuner I've used is Zach at CSG.
Responsive, communicates really well and the tune is good.

Paul Johnson is very responsive. Same day or next day with tune revisions.
