The door ones are barely visible and just add a black line to break up the door. I thought adding fake (but more real looking) vents would be a good idea but after all is said and done, I think it's even worse. For starters, they're all still fake and then there's how they tend to let water into places where you don't want any.

Lets face it, the fake vents are just there to remind you its just a Toyota, and not an exotic. 💁‍♂️

Which is why adding these CF overlays is the best option I think. Easy, inexpensive, doesn't add any additional places to collect water, and is a nice subtle accent to an otherwise not great looking area.

It is ugly, that's why adding the CF makes the ugly panel stand out more. This is definitely one mod I never understood.

Replace tacky fake vent with tackier CF?

Like everything, there's no solution that will appeal to everyone. I like it, it's fine if others don't. I personally don't like the full panel replacement options, so this is making the best of the situation for me.

~ i agree… and much easier to clean a smooth finish versus the plastic honeycomb design.

Surprised no one has done a LED insert yet. Just a soft light. Not too bright.

I didn’t know the vents were removable so I’m gonna experiment with spraying them a gloss black which I think will look better than the stock grey plastic look.
I had no idea these were removable. Maybe I assumed it was more work than worth if they were. I have the CF inserts also but would def prefer something with actual pass through and "real" appearing.

Pass air to where exactly?

Hollow would have been a better word. Not solid plastic looking. Not physical pass through as it goes nowhere technically. Like the hood vents for example.
