First of all, it’s a Toyota, no matter how you put it. Second, if you love the car, who cares about the deappreciation. Buy the car and enjoy it. If your one of these you tubers who just want to buy it and mod it and then sell it in a few months, then okay…. Lol
Toyotas hold their value quite well.
But it's a BMW - only time will tell.
I for one do not care. I plan on keeping it for a long time unless Toyota builds a 3jz which isn't happening so there you go.

Last time I checked, you go to a Toyota dealership to buy a Supra. Just saying……

To the point of it being a BMW sold by Toyota, we're already saving the like 15k depreciation the Z4 has. BMW depreciation is so bad that you can buy a used one that's three years old, and it'll still depreciate 30% just because you drove it off the lot

Did you ever buy your bimmer Supra yet? I see you had 5 posts on buying one.
Not yet. I'm waiting for them to land fresh from Austria.
Navigating the current market isn't for rookies. You'll be the first one I let know, since you're so worried about my history.

depends on the model. M1/M2 have had very good resale. But right now everything used is strong. BMW included.

I was just asking. Lol Not trying to offend. I would wait until the market thins out and prices drop.

The way the global supply chain is going right now - I don't think it's going get better any time soon. I suspect this is going to be a problem well into 2024, where in which it will be the end of Bupra production

Just saying... nobody is waiting lol, people are fucking BUYING right now. Idk why. My uncle just recently bought a turbulence gray 22' the next day after i gave him a ride in my MY20 on E30. Supras are really popular right now. I've been hearing stories where dealers take delivery of a Supra, 6 hours later, gone.

we live in different places. Lol.
LOL... well, that's where the "ish" comes in (and maybe "nice" is a bit overstated). Still, at our favorite sushi spot, my wife and I would get about 8 dishes and pay around $60 (including tip) - now we drop over $100 on the same thing at the same place.

Same... and that's if things don't get worse... which I'm thinking they might. Backlogs are massive, and logistics are plagued with more than just parts and material shortages - just finding enough competent people to truck/ship/build/install things is becoming more of a problem every day.

Agree with a lot of things here about the chip shortage….

then we also have a vehicle here that is very unique. Supposedly this platform/engine/drivetrain was checked by Toyota to meet their reliability standards. ?‍♂ Time will tell, if it does, that will help hold value

I personally don’t like the gauges in the BMW cars, including the Z4, or the steering wheel, but the Supra steering wheelis just right and the gauges are very nice, Toyota designed.

ZF8 transmission tuning for automatic mode is also unique to the Supra, tuning by Toyota.

If a person ever wanted an M-like powered BMW (I always wanted the old M3 with the inline 6 turbo)… and if you ever wanted to “own a Supra”. This takes out 2 or 3 birds with one stone.

with the push for electric/hybrid vehicles, who knows if this is the last generation of normal internal combustion engines, this may increase the value over a long period of time.

factors that can raise the value of the car: easy bolt ons, reflash the currently locked computer, an established manual transmission swap.

I doubt it will rise to the fame of the MkIV.Unless it becomes a movie star car and/or it shows Toyota reliability with BMW power, and easy mods like the mkIV. we’ll have to wait and see
