Just being nice & musta missed the reply message alert. Luckily someone liked a message and it showed up. Regardless, no one is going to listen to the other when everyone‘s minds are already made up.

Summary of sarcasm & truth (just 4 fun): Orange man bad. The View, Don LeMon ? and legacy media says so ?. Saving taxpayer money is bad. Fraud, waste and abuse is good. Elon suggested something should be cut, that he can‘t cut himself but only suggest, which no one can name the bad ones, not even one policy or program. Despite them all being publicly listed line by line item. Sample of what & where to find below?. You may not like what you see if you start looking ?

https://doge.gov/savings

https://dailyhodl.com/2025/02/08/72000000000-saved-by-elon-musks-doge-heres-every-item

Including tax dollars to one sided media. Would the bad orange man, Elon & America haters like Fox News or conservative media to be given millions of dollars? I think not. I certainly don’t want to pay for for any news media organization, right or left. Transparency is a beautiful thang.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/what-has-doge-cut-so-far

It’s that easy ?. So…. at least we all like cars and why I went back to it.

Ooooh oooooh oooooh let me try this too.

Orange man say EV’s bad. Me no like EV’s.

Now orange man say one EV brand good, now me like one EV brand.

Me brainwashed and in a cult. Me just parrot information to look like I have free will in my thoughts.

Did I do it right? Oh, and CARS. Back to cars.

Man it’s funny how it seems the same for both sides.

Back to topic if even possible ?

I’ve always been skeptical of EVs in this infancy stage. I’d rather they develop further before we make the plunge. Tesla would have been my choice before any political stuff just because I think they are the best. Again, just my dumb opinion, based on how many are out there and spending my time in one. I also have friends that have them and love em. So there’s that…

Obviously not to scale. Wonder if those remote control ones catch fire ? as easily? I thought we were all were switching over by 2030. Or was it 2035? ?

Man it’s funny how it seems the same for both sides.

I'm kind of failing to se the bothsidesism in that video... for one, it's literally a skit lol. Kinda weird how people keep falling for fake stuff these days just because it aligns with whatever position their team politics tells them to.

The amount of things conservatives claimed to care about just MONTHS ago yet have completely switched around is literally staggering. I've never seen so many people throw away their ideals so quickly. Anyway, hope nobody plans on buying new cars in the next 4 years lol. I have this sneaking suspicion if a blue President said this, there would be such a dramatically different reaction... lol

I've owned 9 cars in my life. Only one was from an American company. I've always preferred Japanese and German cars. Making the brands I love more expensive for NO real legitimate reason is stupid, but it's also anti-American and anti-capitalist. Never thought I'd see conservatives championing taxes, but here we are. All because everyone pretended high priced eggs was the most important thing in their lives back in November lol

Yeah, I’m not a fan of tariffs. I hope it works in the long run and gets us back to square one equal trading, everyone charging each other the same or nothing at all.

We actually had our yard sign tore up a few times. Caught it on camera too. Don’t want to post because it‘s a neighbor I know. I showed my son how to live the high road and pretend like nothing happened and actually talk to the guy in a friendly manner. Would I have done that if I didn’t have kids? Probably not. But I‘m glad I did. Years have gone by & I see the older guy and his wife at the clubhouse gym from time to time. It’s nice we can be friendly (neighborly) about ? & talk. I never mentioned I caught him red handed. It’s just a sign. But it goes to show how bent out of shape people can get over something as stupid as another person not agreeing with you.

Did you see the Bret Baier special on DOGE a few days ago? I don’t expect you did or will even consider the merits of fraud, waste and abuse a good thing. Like the Iron Mountain that was recently discovered (surly wasn’t well known) & paperwork inside that could be modernized, anyone can nit pick and find ways to justify the old ways. Some people will never expand beyond whatever Rachel Maddow has to say. Conversely, I’m going to continue to count my blessings that this dream team of our brightest and best intelligent people will continue to discover more things we can improve on (while saving money) for the love of our country. We haven’t had quite a collaboration like this since WWII. At least some are starting to listen:

:topic:
Ready to ride in a Plaid yet or did you vandalize or burn one down recently? I think we can get back to cars & include Tesla at the table of car companies that are here to stay.

Dream team of brightest and “best intelligent people”?

Dude, are you serious? What team are you referring to? DOGE?

Yessir.

Those guys ?. You should join them!

What do you think about this guy below and his recent discovery ?

I know it’s not a Tesla by any means but it is mind blowing (despite being fugly) that he can get over 100 mpg easily he says but no one wants to report on it. One magazine editor told him diesel fuel is dead. Think they should build it or at least investigate how he did it http://www.putschracing.com

He did some calculations and said it has a better carbon footprint than even electric vehicles.

I've been on the anti-musk bandwagon since around 2010. My initial disdain has nothing to do with his recent politics (which i'm not a fan of either). He was just always a bad dude, imo.

I personally don't like EVs, but i do support the EV movement. Would even own one as a 2nd "around town" car. But 0 chance that i'd ever own a Tesla, and that's been my MO since 2010.

Keep drinking dat koolaid. “Best and intelligent” hahahaha. It’s computers!
I could be wrong but it does seem like an improvement ?‍♂

I was recently on the other Supra forum. This site has been going down from time to time so I hopped on over there again. The negative attitude of most are that the MKV will never be good as the previous Supras & it’s flawed to the brim due to their biases. Some however have started to open up their minds a bit (started to come around) & actually listen. It helps that I’ve been inside the cockpit of this thing longer than they can type negative posts about the car.

It’s kinda fun ?

Hopefully people will work together over time & realize not everything & everyone is as “racist” or whatever bad term legacy media wants to put on people that don‘t agree with them.

I didn’t know much about the guy. I still don’t. Other than allowing people & sites like Babylon Bee back on the former Twitter now X and rescuing those astronauts recently.

Guess it depends on which news sites you see.

As far as Tesla, I initially didn’t like any of the EVs, knowing how much juice ? they require and drain on the grid. Not something we could support as a mandate over here if people were forced to used them in a country this big. Rural areas would be screwed. I was shocked by some positive reports from some of these guys at the track and the 2024 model 3 performance one. It really went against what I was told about them as well.

i don't like legacy media either brotato.

My honest opinion here is that it was semi acceptable in 2016 - and by that i mean voting for someone who positioned himself as anti-establishment (even if it only a ruse). But tbh i don't understand how anyone doesn't see right through what's going on here.

My guy, Trump has always been racist. It just didn't really matter much because he wasn't in a position of influence. The Central Park Five was an easy tell, but far from the only one. He settled a housing related racial discrimination suit.

The dude was clearly good friends with Epstein, was on the flight logs, and i can't for the life of me understand why that wasn't the end of it. He bragged about walking in on underage beauty pageants while they were undressed...does he need to walk around with a neon sign that says "i like kids"?

The whole concept of running a government as if it's a business is wild. The only reason i have a business is to make money for myself. Trump is not a principled individual; he's in it to make bank. And while that's not exactly something that's exclusive to him in politics, the way he's gone about it has been egregious. People like Bill Clinton were obv bad people too, but 1) there are levels to this and 2) there's a much broader societal impact when the bad dudes don't even try to maintain plausible deniability.

Ok that's about enough politics for me. Back to our shared passion of cars

Instead of watching a guy do a whole podcast on an excerpt of Jon's show, you should just listen to the original interview, because it doesn't say what you or the podcast host thinks it does lol. For one, they explicitly note that Republicans are intentionally making Government inefficient so they can point to it and say "See! This sucks! Let's privatize everything!"

The premise of the Ezra's book is that Democrats have been bad at governing as of late because they are too slow. He points to Biden's "Build Back Better" plan that was estimated to take DECADES to complete when previous liberal agendas like the Green New Deal were implemented in months.

From Ezra:
We are caught between a party that wants to make Government fail (Republicans) and a party that does not make government work (Democrats).

Jon says this about Bureaucracy: "
It's so important for people to get a real understanding of just what is "The Bureaucracy". It's this faceless thing, right now at DOGE, it's demonized as though the people that are running the Bureaucracy are the evil ones. They're just executing what they've been told to do by Congress. They're just hardworking, smart people trying to do the right thing, by what's been legislated.
Jon also highlighted this in the interview by talking about the path it took to get his Veteran's Bill passed. Despite the public image being that Republicans cared about our veterans, behind the scenes, they worked to actually LIMIT care, even after Jon went through the overly complicated process via Dems:

There are two sides to this coin. There is this incredibly frustrating, over complicated Rube Goldberg machine that keeps people from getting broadband, and then on the flip side, there's a group of legislators who don't want to give you anything
I don't think anyone is PRO wasteful government spending. The stated mission of DOGE is universally liked and agreed upon. The issue is whether or not it's being done the right way and going after the right things. Spoiler, it's not.

Republicans have, for the last 40+ years, been the party that says government doesn't work, but get elected to office and intentionally make it not work. It would be like all car manufacturers stating that ICE engines are trash and we should all be driving EVs by making bad ICE engines on purpose. You say that these alleged reforms are good for the country, but they aren't. The sole purpose of DOGE is to reinforce the idea that government doesn't work, and therefore, everything should be privatized. Which makes things more expensive for everyday Americans but is a GREAT new source of profit for corporations, shareholders, and CEOs.

Ezra actually calls out DOGE several times in the interview, noting it's a lie. He said their goal was "the destruction of government under the guise of reform"

This is the problem with viewing politics as a team sport. You're incapable of criticizing your side. You don't go to the sources for info, you wait for your team to chew it up and regurgitate it into your mouth already pre-digested. Why anyone would willingly watch Fox News for information is wild considering they've literally confessed to lying to their viewers because telling you the truth would lose revenue and affect their stock price. You're taking everything Trump and DOGE say at face value, and ignoring everything that might disrupt that viewpoint. Why?

It doesn't bother you to follow whatever new lie they throw out tomorrow? And you can't bring up Maddow, The View, or any other Right Wing Cope Bingo Card rebuttal. No one in this thread watches those shows. We're literally looking at hard data and you're bending over backwards to convince yourself poop is chocolate pudding.

If the left can be self critical, admit flaws, and actually have disagreement within the party, why can't the right?
