I currently have a stage 1 tune from MarinTuned. It seems he’s gone out of business and I’m considering switching tuners. I’ve been considering Twisted and Visconti and I’d like reviews and suggestions from you all. I’m looking to stay with a Stage 1 but do a custom tune instead of OTS this time. I’ve been fairly unhappy lately with my Marin tune and would like to try something else. Thanks!

Too many to list
There should be negligible difference between the reputed tuners. I would talk to a few near me and see how the communication goes.

If you are going with a custom tune, I would suggest you also consider a high low/catless DP. I wouldn't want to be pushing a lot of boost into that 600 cel cat.

I'm tuned via Twisted Tuning, but I'm having the same sort of issue: he has issues replying to email, and I'm also considering a change. I reached out to Sameh via his website, but he hasn't responded either. It sucks when you don't have reliable access to good tuners.

I switched from MarinTuned to KaganTuned. Night and day difference. Marin was cool when he was working, but the lack of communication followed by the full on ghost had me heated. Kagan was helping me for weeks before I officially swapped over lol

Response rates and revisions are quick af which surprised me cause I never had a tuner be responsive (and not be in a pissy mood bout questions).

If you don't like lack of communication or taking twenty decades for a reply, Sameh is def not the answer.

I can only speak personally, but I switched from Marin (Ecutek), to Sameh (BM3), and now Sumo on MHD+ and Sumo has easily been one of my best tuning experiences on this (or any other) car. He is super fast to reply, and communicative in those replies. Revisions are hella fast.

I’m leaning towards Doug Newton from Subpar.

We definitely need a new group of tuners to learn this platform and help out.

The top guys are good but the demand has increased in the last few years and they can’t keep up.

Currently working with Doug Newton at Subpar. BM3, Flexfuel multimap tuning, currently working on e40 for a pure850. Sameh took 2 days to reply to initial inquiry, Doug replied same day.

Spoke with him a week prior to purchasing a tune. Bought morning of 10/1 and base map was sent within an hour. Sent him my first logs 10/4, he sent first revision 10/7, and now we’re on 10th revision by 10/11.

Responds a handful of times throughout the day, and usually gets a revision in the morning and one in the evening. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he would get more out if he didn’t have to wait for me to get logs. With each revision, the car is getting faster and faster. We did run into fueling issues early on, but he corrected it by rev3.

Overall I would recommend him. I asked a couple of questions in some emails which he glazed over, and he can be a little hard to understand. By rev4, he gave a little bit of feedback but eventually I would only get notifications of updates via BM3. we’re now at a point that I just send out the log link, I get an update notification via BM3, and repeat.

If you would like to see his work, here is the log progress. Included base, a couple early revisions, and the most current.

I've had great experience with Hassan at HTE Performance for a stage 2 tune on BM3 (DP, Flex & Meth). He is super responsive, spends time explaining things and typically responds in 10mins. He had me up and running in 3-4 revisions over a period of 2 days. More recently I asked him to up the boost a bit on my stock turbo and I had a revision in 15mins :)

IMO, theres alot of Tuners out there that create great tunes but I felt majority of them are maxing out the car with kill maps so you can post on IG/FBCheck. With Hassan he was understanding my goals and driving style (street, track, drag, etc) and will dial in your car based on what you're looking for.

You can check him out on https://hteperformance.com/
