Hi fellow Supra owners, I have ran into an issue that has me scratching my head without any ideas what to do or check next,
I have a 2021 3.0 Premium AT that has this really weird clunk/pop when turning sharp right, see video:
It seem to me it’s coming from rear passenger side which would mean it happens when the suspension is decompressing when it happens (sharp right turn).
mods:
- SPL rear traction arms
- SPL rear toe link with lockout (installed thinking the toe arm eccentric were worn out and causing the issue, more about this later)
- Eibach euro spec lowering springs (they seem to have sleeves so I don’t think this is due to binding but I know nothing)
- SPL rear endlink (already tried swapped back to stock to rule out, not it)
- BMS spacers and Motorsport hardware lug conversion kit.
other mods that may be unrelated:
- MHD flex fuel OTS
- Verus front camber plates
The car has a new driver side drive shaft as it destroyed a bearing cage last summer and had to be replaced, the new drive shaft is an upgrade part number with less flex than the one on the passenger side, both drive shaft look fine to me upon inspection.
I noticed the issue after aligning the car, this prompted me to replace the camber bolts and also install the tow lockouts, because to me it sounds like eccentric bolts when they skip the notch the sit in - I put tamper detection marker to make sure these bolts aren’t moving and the marker is still intact, no sign of movement under load…
I also checked the battery tray and fuse area for lose stuff inside the trunk, everything seems fine.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
