Yes and no, it all depends on the angle you're viewing it from. Looking from the front, it should look 99% flush from standing eye-level (5-6 feet high), but when you get down low you'll see a little misaligned flare/divot towards the outer ends, a few inches in from the headlamps. As long as it's the same on both sides you're all good.Is the hood and the front bumper suppose to sit flush with each out other in this area?![]()
This. But it usually looks a lot more lob sided for me than the image provided. As someone mentioned above, I think the alignment can be adjusted pretty easily.. and from the photo, it doesn't look out enough to be a soft bonnet/hood drop but who knows?Make sure your hood is closed correctly. Seen a bunch of people asking the same question when they didn’t close it correctly.
I love the wording in the Owner's ManualAnd for the record, you really gotta give the bonnet/hood a decent slam to get it right!
I just got it back from the body shop. From few feets away you can't see anything. But when I drag my finger from the hood to the bumper down you can feel a slight "hight" difference.Make sure your hood is closed correctly. Seen a bunch of people asking the same question when they didn’t close it correctly.
I had to adjust the damn latches and even then it wasn’t perfect.@jtsang25 - what ended up fixing this? I have the same issue.
What endoskeleton? Have a picture? I basically fixed it, as this post was from years ago, but interested for reference.Height of the bumper against the nose of the hood is also influenced by the overall height and rearward position of the bumper cover. There is a black "shell" endoskeleton under the teardrop at the central nose of the bumper, and this also controls how high/low the bumper sits. If that was reinstalled too high or low, the bumper cover will also sit too high or low. Further, how each screw is tightened, especially the topmost and rearmost trim screws, also influences the shape of this seam.
If you're truly not happy with the bumper's stance, the whole thing should ideally come off and get repositioned.
Source: I once accidentally reinstalled my bumper with a 5mm gap under the entire bottom edge of the headlights because I flubbed the endoskeleton placement.
