2023 Stratosphere Blue MT

6000 miles so far.

Why i'm satisfied:

- In my opinion, in strat blue the supra is one of the most beautiful sports cars ever made and grabs ALOT of attention.
- The car has alot of personality when you push it and will bite back, which I like.
- Engine and exhaust both sound great when modified
- It feels much faster than it is, which is nice.

What bothers me:

- The transmission is an obstacle to the power I want and there are no work arounds currently other than an aftermarket clutch. Band aids don't prevent you from breaking bones.
- Tuning software is nearly where it needs to be with an unlock, but not quite there yet with no reflex integration.
- Stock axles seem pretty fragile, there are solutions available, but i'm nit picking.
- This engine needs ethanol more than most tuners and doesn't respond very well to 93 octane compared to it's competitors. (no ethanol around me, Drum prices are $26/gallon.)
- JBL Sound system... WTF were they thinking

Overall 9/10 for out of the box stock car feel.

My biggest gripes (some already captured):

- The car is too softly sprung, wish it had slightly higher spring rates and/or some magnetomagical dampers
- The clutch delay valve is poorly integrated, the 1-2 shift is tricky to get smooth
- No camber adjustment in the front, on a sports car, with only -1.6° static camber stock?!?! WTF were they thinking.

2020 Red LE with 40k miles, i've put on 5 of those, bought used.

The raddles are crazy on the interior.
Coming from a miata, the supra tax is crazy to me
It gets awesome gas mileage on my commute, around 30MPG
It's somewhat rare to see on the road, so you will always get some attention.
Speaker system sucks, HUD should have RPMs
Worth it

2000 miles on a 23 Premium MT:

CONS: Steering wheel (looks worse than my $10k GTI and the volume buttons are stupid, should be scroll wheel), steering feel is lacking, bump steer is annoying, clutch is too springy/light, stock pops and bangs is too much with a DP (car already screams "look at me", I don't need gunshots lol), mediocre sound system, wind buffeting is ridiculous, and passengers always scuff up my door sills since its hard to get into.

PROS: Grip for days, Limited slip diff is magic, solid brakes, B58 is godly, MT shifter feel is exquisite, styling and sound is exciting, interior design and ergonomics is excellent, good ride comfort, and nicely optioned for the price.

I still love the car a lot, seeing as most the cons are fixable.
ill happily fix the steering wheel issue!

@20,000 miles. I keep trying to think what could replace this. The answer is, nothing can. Highly satisfied.

8-10k miles. No complaints. I bought it new and went from being "manual only" tool, er guy, and ya...now manuals don't even make sense to me.
I came from a heavily modded BRZ, which got plenty of attention. This car, though? If you like the attention, this is one of the cars to have. I'm ok with it as it's partly why we mod, for the shows, etc.

Love the car. I need to get better at driving it more often, but idk, post covid, and living in a new area (Where I've already been "arrested" for going 90 on the hwy...then let go) has made it easy to stay inside. I also have worked from home for the last 10 years, so that doesn't help with socializing and getting out.

I'm coming up on 2 years owning a 2021. Driven ~37,000 so far. All I have is a Borla Exhaust.
I have absolutely loved the car. As far as driving goes, I've have no complaints. It feels great to drive. Mountain roads are awesome. Straights are amazing. I still get giddy when I'm about to drive in sport mode.
I've done 19 hour road trips (1 way) and survived pretty well. In the summer, I do have issues with rattling same as everyone else pretty much.

Next year will be my two year mark with this car.

Original owner of a 2022, bought in Sept 2021. Coming up on 18k miles.

I've wanted this car since they came out with the concept in 2014? 2015? And I can proudly say I will keep this for the rest of my life, as long as I possibly can. For now, it is my daily driver, and it will be until I find a nice civic off marketplace LOL. There are way too many pros to name with this car, in my opinion. But the usual cons that everyone else says is there as well.

-Not a huge fan of the iDrive system.
-Kind of wish cooled seats were an option (I live in Texas and I don't plan on committing to a track, autocross, drag build anytime soon although I do enjoy taking it on the track every now and then)
-Also kind of wish remote start was an option.
-Supra tax is nuts but you gotta pay to play right?
-And of course, sound system. The JBL's aren't bad, but I wish it was just a little bit better.

No real problems. I came from a 2016 228xi so I actually very much enjoy the interior on the Supra - love the iDrive compared to the old version and like it more than iDrive8 in M2/M3/M4 but I'm a fan of hard buttons and not a fan of big screens. I may be developing some rattles or it may just be the way I mounted a garage door opener on the vanity mirror/sun shade. Need to take that off one day and see if it the rattle is inside the dash as I think it may be.

Minor gripes - why the hell does any car in 2023 not have Android Auto, particularly one over 50K (rhetorical question, I know the answer and the fix). Would have also liked for carplay to be both Bluetooth and wired so it would maybe sound better when I use my iPhone that I bought just for the purpose of using in the Supra. The connection stability on carplay is fine at least and just wish the volume and sound quality would be as good as it was when I had the satellite radio going which was much louder and clearer.

I wish the steering wheel would raise up a few more millimeters. I'm tall and slim and the top of my legs hit against the bottom of the wheel occasionally even with the seat as low as it goes. Same as others, I think the fix is just getting a slighter smaller diameter and nicer wheel.

I wish there was a separate button just to turn off rev matching. Sometimes I want it on and I don't want to turn on sport mode to have the option to turn it off.

The lack of a trunk pop button doesn't bother me, really. But I also don't use the hatch much.

Overall, I love the car. I was waiting on a C8 order after having a deposit on it for about 4 months and just had a 2019 C7 6 speed Grandsport fall through on me when I got the phone call that this car become available. I had to jump at it because it was arriving at the dealer in a couple days and it was exactly how I wanted it optioned. I really thought I'd have some residual feelings about this decision to buy it over a C8 or manual C7....but I haven't apart from seeing the manual C7 Z06s and grandsport sale values go up a bit in the past six months. I think the car has exceeded my expectations. My only true complaint has been the dealer experience but that doesn't have any thing to do with the car specifically and I can make sure those liars never get another red cent from me.

2020 with a little over 22k miles and now 4 years of ownership. overall the car has been fantastic. It’s had some little annoyances that I’ve fixed over the years. I’ve managed to remove any rattles it had, and replaced the audio system with better components. The tune I did earlier this year made the car even better. Still happy with it and I’ve thought about replacing it but I can’t bring myself to do it. Just love it too much.

In regards to the sound system, idk if you've done it but, doing the OEM Sub mod from the DIY sub-forum, and using the EQ settings from that same DIY made a world of difference for me. I'm not gonna say it puts it up there with the best but, it really went a long way to fix the muddy distorted bass you get with the car stock. All in all it probably took me ~30-40 minutes and costed less than $100

There's 14k miles on my car. I drove this shit out of it the first summer.

9k miles the first year.
4k miles last year.
~1k miles this year w/ Billy Mason's engine.

Learnings:

- The car is broken more often than not.
- It's incredibly hard to make consistent passes, seat time is key
- it's a lot of work and money living at the 1000hp mark.

My experience is likely not typical.
That can't be fun always having the car broken down and constantly throwing and losing money at it.
