That's what I said too, my man! I'm fine with a JB+ because I didn't feel like messing with a JB4. Bought a JB4. I'm fine with map 2, I don't need a custom map 6. Bought Jesse's services. I don't want to mess with with mixing gas or buying some expensive race fuel, I'm fine with a custom 93 tune. Bought a custom E30 tune and a ethanol mixture sensor. INJECT THE SPEED INTO MY VEINS!
It funny because I really don’t need more HP. It’s perfect. But that’s my worry, I’ll catch the speed bug, lol. Last thing I need it to be playing with fuel.

Curious about going from nothing to JB+ andn then to the JB4. How much difference do you think there is between the three?
Nothing to a JB+ was a mild upgrade. I could definitely feel the difference. Going from a JB+ to a JB4 on map 2 was a larger difference and felt like more of an upgrade. However, power delivery didn't feel smooth. Going from a JB4 on map 2 to a custom map 6 with @Jesse DaBears' services was the largest jump. I don't know if it was due to an absolute jump in power delivered or because power delivery was smoothed out effectively. Jesse may be able to speak to that. This is all scientifically measured using my butt dyno.

You can have two custom tunes saved and switch between two map 6 setups. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!

All I can say is I was a little skeptical between Map 2 vs Map 6. In the end, I can say Map 6 is faster and puts down the power a lot more smoothly compared to Map 2. It's a night and day difference. I only run 93 due to the fact I drive the car every day and it's just more convenient.
This is what I keep hearing as well. Another verification is good to know.

A Jesse custom tune isn’t expensive. He’ll hook you up to your car exactly and your needs :)

I second this.

I wouldn't be comfortable giving you my JB4 settings in case shit goes sideways. Each car is always slightly different. As an example: Pretty sure I've heard Jesse give examples of some [cars] can handle X amount of E and produce X HP while others others need a lighter blend because it can't handle that same blend.

I’m soooooooo picky, no where near the knowledge of you guys and Jesse has worked with me tremendously. My car with a catless dp, AWE track exhaust, air intake, my exact brand of tires I like and only 93 octane. The power gains are insane when I’m on my custom Map 6. Best “mod” for the money (his custom tune).

I don't mean to speak out if turn or barge in here on the conversation but as someone who has ran an e35 with methanol injection tuned by Jesse I don't really understand why people are still going this route at this point. I do not mean to bash jb4 at all as it was an amazing tool to use in time of need when no other options were available and I enjoyed the results thoroughly.
But with the prices being extremely close and competitive between buying a jb4/custom tune vs unlock and ots maps it kind of seems going a bit backwards at this point. The jb4/ tune/ meth set up it was somewhere around $1700 total. And that was installing the methanol kit and lines myself not paying for labor. My unlock and mhd software cost me just under $1500. I will tell you that the ots maps on mhd are absolutely faster and the car runs much smoother. If you are not going to run methanol w/ jb4 then you may save $500 not going the unlock route but it's not worth that little amount of savings imo as we did not buy these cars to penny pinch. At least I hope not. Just my thoughts that I wanted to share from my own experience in case anyone was on the fence about either route to take.

Interesting. Can you please comment a little more on the effect and your experiences of the JB+. While I understand its mild, do you think it's worth it. I like the fact that it is non intrusive and provides a little extra hp for near zero effort. The reality is that I am coming from a 150kw/200hp car so a stock Supra is already batshit crazy power for me. :spaz:

JB+ is a static 2-4psi across the board with no configuration outside of that 2-4psi adjustment wheel.

I don't really understand why people are still going this route at this point.
Without going clone doesn't that leave MHD and BM3 on the same playing field as JB4? By that I mean no flex fuel, no antilag, big turbo, etc? Other than being a tad faster (taking your word for it as I don't have the experience to compare) what else can MHD do that JB4 path cannot?

I'm thinking if someone's goal is...let's say....500hp. If they can accomplish this with a JB4, Eblend, and meth or they can go unlock (not clone) with similar mods and make the same hp why would one change paths from JB4 to MHD now? Especially considering if they ever wanted to go back to stock to sell (which tbh I have no intentions of doing) they can simply unplug the JB4 and swap parts back out. Doesn't JB4 have safety settings that will drop down to a lower map if trouble starts? Does MHD/BM3 offer the same?

What does MHD/BM3 offer that would convince someone, other than race car, to switch paths or chose it over JB4? I don't ask this with venom on my tongue - genuinely just curious. I fully understand if folks wanted a 700whp race car, but for someone who just wants to go faster is there any real advantage?

Sorry for the long post. Your post got me thinking and if there is a giant benefit then maybe I should rethink my path.

edit: spelling error.

Fuel control, timing control, AFR targeting, better boost management, burble control, etc., etc.. JB4 doesn't allow for any of that.

Damn you, @zrk. lol jk

I guess I'm just thinking of overall hp gains. I mean my goal is 530-550. And I'm already down the JB4 path. Just trying to decide if I should switch paths now. I'd be starting all over. :banghead:
