Just saw this remote-start option from EuroStar. Is anyone familiar with it?

Every couple of months or so I google "remote start supra mkv" to see whats up, and today I saw this kit from Eurostar: https://www.eurostart.com/product/trs1-remote-starter-kit

Is anyone familiar with it? From the product description, it states that no splicing or soldering is needed, whereas with the bimmertech remote start option, I think this is required.

Still doesnt beat the remote start that Femto used to offer, which only required additional coding from their behalf. I wish they would bring it back.

Yeah but losing a key.. no thanks. And it's for autotragics only anyway. 💁‍♂️

I've never understood the need for a remote starting facility, can anyone explain to me the need for one. The overnight temps get below zero where I live from time to time but I've never thought a remote starting option would be good. What are the other benefits?

As someone who lives in Florida and doesn't know what a winter is, having remote start would be awesome to get the AC running before I get in to the car.

The other reason some people like it is so they can hear the initial startup and cold start from outside the car, but that novelty gets old pretty fast I feel like.

I wouldn't bother spending big bucks getting a janky remote start system installed though, especially since I keep my car in a garage and thus it's very rarely an oven inside of it.

I will admit that the car heats / cools extremely fast, so it's not as necessary as it is in some other cars (such as in my corolla), but its a nice to have feature, and is much appreciated when the weather conditions are right and you're glad that you installed it. Additionally (as jmikes mentioned) it'll be cool to turn it on from the outside to hear the car start.

You're right, losing an expensive key is not ideal. The good thing is that posts like this / new remote start products being released shows that there is a market for this, so hopefully Femto gets the message & brings back their code-only solution!!

The supra warms up so fast as someone else stated that I never saw the need for it in the northeast.

However my daily (19 CX-5) absolutely it is a life saver. In the winter having the car warm and defrosted before you enter it in the morning is great and in the summer a cool interior to walk into without waiting is also awesome.

There's something intrinsically wrong to have a car running without anyone in it. Same goes for starting it. I'm old school but still hard enough to get into a cold car and bare it for 5 minutes till it warms up or cools down.
PS it gets to 0C where I live in the winter and 40C plus in summer..
