Wait until a good brand comes out. Like ARDesign. I had it on my BMW 335i for a few years and never had any issues with it. It was well made and the company has a long, reputable history.

Another amazing brand that comes to mind is Akrapovich. I mean...it's at the top of the list. It sounds sexy af!

https://www.motor1.com/news/361178/2020-toyota-supra-akrapovic-exhaust/

o2 sensor issue - I'd wait for a company like, Burger Tuning, to get the numbers dialed in for this Supra. I also had this on my BMW and it erased the CEL error for the o2 sensor issue. It didn't erase the light, it erased the code. If the light is all that's removed, you won't get the full performance of the downpipe/exhaust. If you do get a right tune, it'll fix the o2 issue and your engine will run smooth and #'s will increase from the performance part(s).

As for the cheaper stuff, or non-big name brands, I'm assuming you won't be going down that route? All the owners of this new Supra have paid upwards of $80k (not including fees, taxes, insurance, etc). So, money shouldn't really be a factor...

I thought I saw a video on here(or on youtube) where someone tried a regular B58 down pipe on a supra and it wouldn't fit correctly because having the manifold built into the head changes where everything lines up. I could be wrong though.

There's really not much to a down pipe, as long as it fits properly(correct bends), made from the right material, and the company can weld properly then any down pipe will do. The biggest thing is making sure the fitment is correct, but I feel like this platform should be easy to get the fitment right as its not as crowded as say the dual down pipes and tight clearances of the e9x(BMW 335).
You're right. Dimensions are different between the BMW and Toyota Supra...

Is there a downpipe that does not require a tune??
Yes, you can put a downpipe on without a tune... but Iā€™m not sure how much power increase you get without the tune. Downpipe + tune = ~100whp. Maybe someone else knows how much power to expect with DP alone.

The tune also can erase the CEL light. You may be able to avoid a CEL light with a high flow cat, or a catless DP with O2 sensor, but Iā€™m not 100% sure.

You should see about 30-35whp with downpipe only.

Thanks for the info! I'm not quite ready to do a tune yet. The downpipe will definitely give me more volume that I want. I may look into the protune from Titan since it's a piggyback and not a ECU flash.

You could do a downpipe with an O2 spacer.

I like the sound of the SSR Performance DP catless and the price is good. Does anyone know if it throws any codes? I messaged them but got no response yet.

I would imagine any dp will throw a CEL unless you had a spacer or mini car to "trick" the ECU into seeing the correct temp/flow.

I think it just comes down to the quality and fitment. The catless versions will all sound almost identical based on the fact they they are restricted to the same footprint and the in/out sizes are already defined. The downpipe itself is not very long and doesn't offer many options for changes between manufacturers. I would just get an 02 spacer if you don't want to get a tune.

2 things on that...

1. Does this design actually have a performance boost over other DPs. The explanation makes sense to me, but I would just be taking his word for it. Anyone with more experience able to chime in?
2. I have a hard time trusting companies that only sell on eBay....
