Hey there everybody! I've started the design process of making a carbon fiber bumper cover for those of us single exit folks. The rendering here is of the stock bumper with the passenger side exhaust hole removed. We also took off the vortex generators to clean it up some. Any feedback is much appreciated!

I think it looks better with the vortex generators. Can you post a rendering with them on?

Thanks, I don't currently have any pics with the vortex generators but will get started on that right away. While at it we can see what it would look like with a more aggressive protrusion than stock as well.

Looks better with vortex(s)
I am not a JDM/single fan- long time BMW owner and have always had at least two

Looks unbalanced with the one. But i understand the JDM tradition. Good luck, it 100% looks stupid with the empty hole on the passenger side so I believe there is a market

edit: you asked, completely one idiot's opinion of course.

Yeah, I'm not digging the missing vortexes as much as I thought I would either.

I'm cool with a bit of imbalance, just trying to make it look less broken with that gaping hole.

And as one idiot to another, thanks for your opinion.

I agree with the above statements the vortex generators definitely need to be brought back.

I'm going single exit because others already have and there's very little to improve the aesthetics with the missing exhaust tip, leaving me a potential niche market. I believe that "it's a JDM thing", weight, and price are other reasons people might decide to go single exit.

Thank you for doing this. I am having my guy fabricate a bespoke single exit system whenever the muffler component arrives from Japan.

I think the market is looking less for a complete bumper replacement than a simpler and much, much less expensive cap or cover for the empty exhaust outlet. Basically, the market needs a cover for the circled part and not a complete rear fascia replacement piece.

This also saves you the trouble of figuring out how your bumper replacement is going to work not just with Tomei (which exits out the left), RK Tunes (which exits out the right), etc. but also any bespoke single exit systems (which could do either, exit at any number of angles, and use any number of muffler options).
